Mayor Funky's Last Remaining Friends Think He's Gonna Get Reelected!!!

I've met Dan from Gone Mild once or twice and I think he's a really good guy. But that doesn't excuse his dirtbag tactics in his recent promotion of Mayor Funky's failed regime.

Dan switched up to a Wordpress blogging account . . . And that's cool, maybe he will be taking advantage of the more advanced format. Wordpress includes cool stuff like IP identification that Blogger just doesn't come with "out of the box." So maybe Dan can keep track of his critics who seemingly beat him into submission and kept him doing beer posts with some rather mean-spirited attacks. Similarly, I don't begrudge Dan what could be a paying gig at yet another local internet site which seems to be an advertising venture disguised as journalism maskerading under the word "Free" . . . Nothing ever is . . . And their comment system requires registration and what seems like an arm and a leg.

Still, strictly on the basis of Mayor Funky's last round of campaign promises he's made a liar out of anyone who supports him and very publicly made a fool of Dan.

Mayor Funky promised to be Smart With The Money . . . The City's Financial Mess is worse than ever and Mayor Funky's horrible decisions contributed to this fact in circumstances ranging from all of the Mammy-gate money wasted to TIFs like Savoy still garnering Mayor Funk's approval despite his disingenuous TIF Fighter stance.

Mayor Funky promised infrastructure improvements . . . This town's potholes are still as bad as ever, the Water Department never really complied with the flimsy Steel Plate Ordinance and all of the recent sewage spills don't inspire much confidence that things will improve 25 years from now when water infrastructure improvements will be completed.

FINALLY . . .

MAYOR FUNKY NEVER TOLD ANYBODY THE GLORIA SQUITIRO WOULD BE RUNNING HIS OFFICE!!!

This sin of omission is Mayor Funky's greatest betrayal of Kansas City . . . Co-Mayor Gloria Squitiro's bare feet running so much Mayoral business is unforgivable and will ultimately be the reason they might not make it past the primary.

Yet, Dan won't argue this point against some of the most vicious Internet d-bags. Because I'm one of the few people in this town who can ignore most of the senseless Internet debate and pick out a few gems, I'm good with the mostly harmless Internet angst whereas Mayor Funky's last remaining friends are busy inventing schemes to revive Kansas City's Lame Duck Politico.
