A great many people criticize this controversial Kansas City Star columnist but his recent missive on the Northeast was one of the few reports from the area that really capture its spirit and he's also one of the VERY FEW Star Newsies who lives within the City Limits.

When I first moved to KC, and Diuguid lived in south KC, he wasn't bad to read. Over time, he became a one note Charley. Maybe now that he is back in a neighborhood where he gets out and interacts with others, he'll get back to his better ways. More time on the street, less time in the Ivory Tower.

I will admit that I didn't move out of Northeast until '01 though. I felt that I had suffered enough and put in my time. Besides, I wanted a city that I DESERVED.
Is Lewis divorced? His column had a lot of "I" references. Did his wife run off with whitey?
ReplyDeleteThis article is a joke. I have lived in Northeast for nearly 25 years and Diuguid makes the neighborhood appear to be some sort of utopia hidden in the inner city.
ReplyDeleteHe failed to mention the crime and gang violence that constantly torment the community. Maybe I will have to write an article or two about the multiple drive-by's we have had on my block in the past month, or the prostitutes I have to constantly chase off my property.
