Latino Advocacy Taskforce Follow-Up

WDAF has a nice video detailing the kickoff press conference of this new anti-crime Latino group we were talking about over the weekend.

KCTV5 also covered the event: "New Group Formed To Stop Latino Violence"

Comments

  1. "this new anti-Latino Crime group" How many crime groups are there? is there an anti-black Crime group? or an anti-asian Crime group? or maybe an anti-tagalog Crime Group?

Perhaps an Anti-Crime Latino group, or a Latine Group against crime?

syntax is not about seeing boobies, it keeps you from being one.

  2. anti-Latino crime grouup. Yup 7:43, that's pretty funny, all right. Good 4u to have spotted that 20 mins after T posted it.

I think our host maybe didn't get enough sleep last night.

Anyway, I'm curious, having lived here too long. Do wanna be community activists in OTHER hell holes form groups to get on TV to express outrage over murders, or is this unique to KC?

It occurs to me that despite all this local indignancy, the crime rate remains what it is, and so they're not very effective.

This Latino one will be an interesting case study. Not that 118 murders makes up enough to be statistically significant, and 8 of them were hispanic (source from one of the comments here), after formation of that group will there be MORE or LESS than roughly 7 percent of the murders being latino next year?

I am still convinced the thing worth studying is not the NUMBER but the causes. I'm sure some number cruncher down on Locust street has categorized them based on CAUSE and not just outside temperature.

How many are the result of street justice (victim had it coming for some unpaid drug debt) versus random victim, victim stole my woman, gang initiation, robbery, yada yada.

These 'anti-ethnic crime groups', do they know what they're up against or are they just helping the teevee stations fill time between commercials on slow newsdays?

  3. Did you really just correct a typo on a blog.

    YOu fail at life.

    Tony already fixed it.

    Try again.

  4. A typo is when you hit the wrong key. Typographical error.

Tony committed a wording error that is somewhat funny, for saying "anti Latino" Crime group, rather than saying Latino "anti crime" group.

Given he shills for browns, it was funny. I think he should have left it there for grins.

But the poster above this one clearly doesn't have a sense of humor.

  5. A person who leaves a comment is a commenter.

A poster is usually a photographic image or drawing taped to a wall.

Radioman you are a TOTAL FUCKING IDIOT.

  8. I don't 'leave' comments. Maybe you do, after squating. I post a comment. Though in THIS software, I guess we "PUBLISH" them. Assuming you want to split hairs.
