KCPD Road Surveillance Totals

From KCPD Chief Corwin's Blog: More driver's license checkpoint results

And when it comes to these Driver's License Checkpoints It's Important To Remember:

Folks concerned about personal liberty and the prevalence of surveillance are worried about checkpoints.

Leaders in the African-American Community have expressed their concerns about the possibility of a disparate impact of these checkpoints on minority communities.

And many other people just don't like slow downs on local streets . . .

As with a great many things in Kansas City, there will be a lot of bickering but I'm not convinced that much will change. The smartest folks in town remind people to make sure they're not ridin' dirty and remember that, just like facebook, privacy is mostly a thing of the past.

  3. No. Black drivers without a license are just citizen criminals.

This should be a case where they should feel that for once, they're not being targeted. Left off the hook, finally.

BUT black people can't stand for someone else to get to play victim more than THEY do. So they want a piece of this, whether we buy it or not.

I surely remember 1980, blacks were just incensed when the Viets showed up from Manila and had it worse off than the former slaves.

Shoulda seen it! Some high tech Viet got a nice car practically right off the boat, because he landed a factory job, and blacks were whining that their government welfare just HAD to have bought those nice cars for those damned gooks!

They just couldn't believe it that hard-working Vietnamese actually landed twenty dollar an hour factory jobs and they bought those cars on their OWN! And moved out of Section 8 housing in less than a year!

Yup here was a group of people who were just not into generational welfare even when they showed up with NOTHING but bad breath! Wasn't in their genes.

Ponder on THAT story, boyz n girls! It's true, I swear it.

  4. RM is right I saw it in 1974 when they brought the "boat people" to Pendleton. The people worked hard and made their own way.

  5. This is garbage. There are checkpoints all over the City. There is frequently one set up to catch folks going north of the river. They are south of the Plaza, too.

  8. Under the Mayor and City Council Kansas City is turning into a police state.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Actually, I don't agree. Its the state legislature and the Congress that are turning Amerika into a police state.

Way too many laws and restrictions. Those legislators at the state and federal level are in the business of passing laws we have to follow.

Enough already. Repeal a BUNCH of them. And reread the Bill of Rights! Learn the spirit of them. Don't write laws just to work around them!

  10. Repeal them, HA!! How about just civil disobedience? The only way you're going to repeal a law is to actually get "caught" doing said victimless crime and then take your case to court. However, most Americans will just roll over and pay the revenue generator for the cities bankroll.

Until you're ready to actually get up and stand up for your rights and fight for them, there's no sense espousing this and that via the internet.

These checkpoints are nothing more than a revenue generating police state. Surrender your rights or flex them, it's up to you. Checkpoints are essentially voluntary, but only if you understand that and know what to say you will be targeted.

  11. Once it was a slippery slope; now, alas, the slope is gone, and we have arrived. Across the river, Kansas now has a primary seatbelt law, which creates, when all is said and done, checkpoints of a roving nature.
If stopped there, or in these so called checkpoints, don't submit. At the very least, allow no touching of your property without a warrant.

  12. Sweetness.

I'm not giving them any money, but maybe it's because I have a fuckin' driver's license and insurance and no warrants.

Who knows. As long as they are getting these retards off the road, It's all good.

What a bunch of numbnuts. The people they busted are the same ones who drive like idiots and kill people on the roads in K.C.

  13. @ 11:13pm
Do you SERIOUSLY think they are getting the "numbnuts" off the road?? They're driving RIGHT NOW on no license. They're throwing them in a cage for the night, raping their pocketbooks, and letting them free to do the same thing again.

How about we deal with REAL offenders? Those who actually are violent offenders, cause accidents, etc? Those are the ones that need help. NOT some mom, pop, sister, brother, trying to get to and from work everyday.

Understand that victimless crimes are only revenue generators and I hope that none of you get suckered in by one. Know your rights!

  14. Yeah man, I should be free!

I should be free to grow all the pot I want to in my back yard.

I should be free to shake up some meth all I want. I'm only hurting myself.

I should be free to take my horse draw buggy down 71 Hwy and fire gatling guns out both sides anytime I want.

    I need to be free!

I reject the government insisting I have a drives license.

I reject the notion that there are borders in this world. My pot plants tell me so.

I should be able to drive whenever and wherever I want to, man, that's freedom. I could give a shit if it's your yard I'm driving in. My meth crystals tell me so.

I should be able to walk into any business in this country buck naked.

I should be able to point a gun at anyone and take their property. That's freedom baby!

It is COMPLETELY obvious that you don't understand the fact the personal liberty comes with RESPONSIBILITY!!!

It's obvious that you don't understand one has to come with the other. Just as government steals money from you to do what it thinks is best for you. You should appreciate liberties you do still have and be responsible in upholding those. Respect for others is a must if you want liberty.

  16. Its important to remember, the same douche bags who cant be bothered to get a license, or are suspended yet still drive, most likely have no insurance. The same people crying about racial disparity and liberty infringement, would be righteously pissed if said dirty driver ran into them. In fact they would be front and center decrying the police not enforcing the law.
