KANSAS CITY'S INVISIBLE MAYOR!!!

The Mayoral election is 11 months away and there are already 5 challengers that are all pretty serious.

Conclusion:

BECAUSE OF THE INCOMPETENCE OF MARK FUNKHOUSER AND GLORIA SQUITIRO -- THE KANSAS CITY MAYORAL RACE SEEMS AS IF IT'S FOR AN OPEN SEAT!!!

Think about it, these are all serious people getting in the race.

Deb Hermann - Northland Council Lady, Finance & Audit Chair

Mike Burke - Former Port Authority Lawyer, Former Councilman

Sly James - Prominent Local Lawyer and Political Denizen

Jim Rowland - Former Councilman, Sports Authority Executive Director

Leonard Jonas Hughes - Current Missouri State Rep.

In every instance I wouldn't have a problem voting for any of these candidates over another 4 years of Gloria Squitiro's feet in the Mayor's Office.

The fact that these campaigns have been able to get off the ground supported by people with real influence, cash and power suggests something disappointing for this cowtown: It's like we don't even have a Mayor.

Also, the way this race is shaping up I have a prediction that's contrary to popular opinion: It's not going to be as mean as everyone thinks.

Of course it'll be too tense for a few old ladies but in the grand scheme of things from what I hear the candidates are going to keep it cordial and if last election proved anything it's that this town is polite to a fault. In the end, there could be some funny and embarrassing details in the primary but for the most part it just might be a snooze-fest and it's likely the candidates will only attack the Mayor in passing because it doesn't look as if he'll be a factor.
