Urban Farmers are going to have to wait to turn their lawn into a plantation. NBC Action News reports that The Planning and Zoning Committee decided to table discussion of a local Urban Farming Ordinance for another two weeks.
In the meantime, local farming enthusiasts can probably still continue to grow tomatoes that nobody wants.
Seriously, I'm gonna throw tomatoes at the next person who tries to send a bag of their lame crop home with me. Year after year, old ladies from all around this city grow enough tomatoes to provide salsa for the world and it's cute right up until the point when my basement refrigerator is mostly tomatoes.
Stop it. Before it starts.
Now.
Just another sign this is bad for Kansas City. Like most other crappy ideas from the KCMO Mayor/Council, they will keep delaying and ramming it through until they finally exhaust the opponents. The machine behind this ordinance is not your neighbor...unless you consider people living in Kansas trying to make a buck off KCMO your neighbor.
