The Gangs Of Johnson County

KCTV5 has an interesting story regarding hybrid gangs in the suburbs. RDM notes that the story seems to be documenting an attempt to play the blame game that usually results in minorities being held responsible for homegrown crime in mostly white middle-class enclaves.

Either way . . . While suburban gangs are causing fear and petty crime, I'm pretty sure that a great many of them are also serving as a punchline.

  3. I laugh when I hear people say "that kind of thing does not happen in this part of town". Crime happens where bad people move, Blacks and Hispanics moved to the suburbs to "get away " from crime but their family members ARE the people that bring crime with them. I know because I have relatives that moved to Lee's Summit and brought crime with them. I know a Black family that moved to a small town in North Central MO and the entire family was busted for selling drugs.

  5. Why does crime follow the minorities? Can they not co-exsist with regular folks. In a local $300,000 subdivision, two mexican families moved in across from each other (can you say Fannie Mae). During the past summer they proceeded to build a bonfire in the middle of the road to burn their party trash verse bagging it. Seriously, who starts bonfires in a neighorhood with $300,000+ homes? You can take the mexican out of the burro but you can't take the burro out of the mexican. I want to live in a neighborhood with individuals who have mutual respect for others and their property. Minorities can't seem to do either.
