Earlier today, I heard that the port-a-potties are still up at Penn Valley Park. The place is still a mess to Kansas City Gay Pride Festival Organizers have been forced to move their gathering to Richard Berkly River Front Park.
This is a pretty big deal considering that Kansas City's Gay Pride Festival on June 5-6 is one of the biggest LGBT events in the nation.
It's Strange that The Star covers gives a brief mention to this fact but doesn't provide the alternate location and instead focuses on happy news when it comes to Memorial Day activities.
So, now one of the biggest gay parties in the nation is at Berkley Park but it's really interesting how the consequences of Mudfest for a major local festival were really put on the back burner by local media and so many politicos.
You just love this.
ReplyDeleteBiggest in the nation??? Facts dickhead.
ReplyDelete"Named one of the top 10 Pride Festivals in the nation by The Advocate in 2008, our festival is the second largest festival in Kansas City"
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great coverage Tony.
Who cares? They still get to do what they like.....have sex in a park! Does it matter which park?
ReplyDeleteWait top 10 queer fest, is that like winning a gold medal at the special Olympics?
Dear Sean,
ReplyDeleteA lot of people care-
Named one of the top 10 Pride Festivals in the nation by The Advocate in 2008, our festival is the second largest festival in Kansas City.
Taking place in the heartland, our objective is to use our many voices and talents to celebrate, educate and share our diversity with those in the greater Kansas City area and surrounding region.
Show Me Pride is pleased to announce Pride Week June 1st - June 6th, 2010, which includes a myriad of events culminating with the 32nd Pride Festival on Saturday, June 5th and Sunday, June 6th. On these days, over 30,000 people from the midwest will come together for one of the most exciting festivals of the year.
This is not about having sex in a park.
i thought they liked mud!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSean must have been disappointed that he went to Pride and didn't get any sex in the park.
ReplyDeleteIt is about making a profit for a small number of "organizers."
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope that since it is a for-profit enterprise that the pay market rates for rental space, security and other services that come at the public's expense.
Sean...thats awesome. No one will take gay pride serious untill the stop wearing assless chaps, dressing like enormous dicks, and singing we shall over come at rallies.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for La Roux!!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDelete"singing we shall over come at rallies"
ReplyDeleteWe would get a lot more support singing We Shall Over Come than we do playing Techno-Euro Dance Rave "Music," which is all I ever hear at PRIDE events. It stinks!
Biggest in the nation? I'd like to see facts too, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. We have the 1st or 2nd largest aids walk in the nation. (I forget which.)
ReplyDeleteI thought the theme music was its raining men?? Who really cares about a bunch of Subaru's parked trolling for sex at riverfront park
ReplyDeleteLa Roux AND En Vogue this year! Heavenly.
ReplyDeleteFreaks and geeks need a place to party. The stench of the river will help mask the attending filth.
ReplyDelete2:12- It beats the low class parties you throw out behind your trailer, you hateful, ignorant hick!
ReplyDelete2:12 is not a hick!
ReplyDeleteHow Bromantic! Sean comes to the defense of his very special friend!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. They always thought of the Liberty Memorial as one big dick. Maybe they will slide into the river while having sex.
ReplyDelete4:41 and others like you: When you think of heterosexual sex do you obsess on the sex lives of your parents, siblings and other relatives? When you see your mother do you constantly think only of her vagina and what's she's doing with it when she's in bed with your dad? When you see a gay man or woman do you think only of what they are doing with their sex organs? The point of this? Being gay is NOT all about sex! Get your filthy minds above the waist!
ReplyDeleteI like how the Star said it was moved because of rain damage to the park...and not the 50K people who destroyed it.
ReplyDeleteBeing gay is NOT all about sex!
ReplyDeleteGay or straight life is about sex, so that commenter is not a popular and well-grounded person.
What ....?
