The KCMO murder rate is climbing quickly and it's just starting to get warm outside.
What's always worse is that local politicos won't even begin to address the problem until August.

Dear Mr. Tony: As always, thanks for keeping the city posted on homicide stats. Denial on the part of the city's elite about our crime problem continues. When news came out of Mr. Tutera's murder, politicos immediately flooded the news with info about all of the lawsuits/failed business dealings he was involved in--for those who don't take hints easily, here is the message: "THis was not another stranger murder!! He was killed by a business associate/family member! Conventions: NO need to cancel--city is quite safe!!" Well, the truth catches up to lies in the end. It was a botched robbery--one more innocent person killed in an increasingly lawless city. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
ReplyDeleteDear Tony: One quick additional Comment. I grew up in Washington, DC--the city has very hot summers. In 2009, despite these quite hot summers, DC had the lowest homicide total in 50 years. Our city's homicide explosion has nothing to do with summer heat. In Christ, Ernest Evans
