People are so busy congratulating each other that they have overlooks a failure of epic proportions within the political ranks of Kansas City's African-American Community.
Linwood Tauheed is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UMKC and he's also a high ranking member of Mayor Funky's New Tools Task Force . . . Whatever that means.
He was backed by Parks Board Director Ajamu Webster and he was running a divisive in-district race where the rhetoric entailed scaring many African-American voters with the prospect of being shut out of Kansas City, Missouri School District Leadership.
Linwood Tauheed garnered only 356 votes.
Ajamu Webster, Sharon Sanders Brooks, BUF are all a joke--300 votes!
ReplyDeleteniggas..gots..to.. GO!!!!!
ReplyDeletemaybe KC voters are finally fed up with their corrupt bullshit?
ReplyDeleteLinwood Tauheed is a arrogant academic with no grasp of reality? Is it any wonder that the "New Tools" report was filled with academic community empowerment jingo-isms and aboslutely no actual "New Tools?" I'm actually kind of surprised that he got that many votes!
ReplyDeleteThe above comments reek of racist phobic commentary that is totally inappropriate and disrespectful to a city that wants to become known by what is right, opposed to what is white.
ReplyDeleteBe known for what is right. Are you kidding. How is it you can have a consulting contract with the school district while you sit on the African centered education board and then run for a position on the school board and everyone wonders why he garnered only 356 votes.I think kc finally realizes what is wrong.
ReplyDeleteI have two words, Broad Foundation. Don't lecture about letting contract until you check out their educational venture investments with superintendents and school board. Do your research and check out Robert Bobb in Detroit and Goodlo-Johnson in Cleveland. All Broad alumni. Don't try to localize what is happening and see the larger picture of what is occurring across the country with so-called right-sizing, transformation and school reform. When the civic community who has no kids in the district are guiding this relationship with the corporate educational investors and $10,000 plus donations, their agenda is not to help those who they don't know. Read the educational tea leaves and see the bigger picture.
ReplyDeleteWhy did the consulting gig get axed if it was so beneficial?
ReplyDeleteRead these tea leaves . . . I'm sick of giving my money to a district that doesn't care about me. I have to forego a lot of stuff so that I can take care of my kids and the kids of people who love to talk empowerment while mooching off of me. Suck it, Linwood. Time for your Furious Styles rhetoric to go.
ReplyDeleteThe rich White lady named Kim Carlos applied the cat-o-nine-tails to the Black United Front's sensitive areas!
ReplyDeleteFuck you!
Covington was smart to make a very quick evaluation of the district and make change before he could be influenced.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean that we can all stop pretending that Spark Bookhart is some kind of political, strategic, and organizing genius?
ReplyDeleteI mean, sure, he had crummy candidates to work with, but the way he (and his friends) talk, you'd think that Barack Obama wouldn't have made it out of Chicago without Spark's piercing insights and unparalleled ability to organize the masses. And given that Spark and his candidates claim to be surprised by the low turnout, maybe he didn't really single-handedly boost Black turnout in the 2008 election after all...
Where was all the white outrage, when A. Benson got on the KCMSD board as a write-in candidate with less than 400 votes, after making millions off the backs of the KCMSD by suing the district as the attorney for black kids, even though he sent his to an elite private school. He is one of the architects of desegregation, but the KCMSD is more segregated than before the more than 8 billion dollars of taxpayers monies were spent by the courts with less or no academic results. This is not opinion, which everyone is an expert with, but fact. Go to the Cato Institute and read the volumes of research on what is called a, "failed educational experiment" Don't get angry, get educated on the facts.
ReplyDeleteAjaboo is Funky's fool.
ReplyDeletethe kim carlos I know of is not white.
ReplyDeletetauheed was not on my ballot, however, those affiliated with the simmons's ticket …
at least the other team sent me ads and came to my door the other night.
advertising works! (and so do pitch stories : )
[esp. when coupled with personal experience with both school board and airick l. west.]
Tauheed is a self-righteous ass.
ReplyDeleteWebster is a self-righteous ass.
Funkhouser is a self-righteous ass.
I wonder why they seem like kindred spirits?
