While the few naive local political denizens voting in recent Kansas City, Missouri School District elections are content to keep on patting themselves on the back . . . The rest of this town looks for real answers on how to fix local schools.
And now that Airick L. West is the new School Board President he will face even more scrutiny.
Here are the biggest questions about the mastermind behind this bit of Cowtown change:
Who's that white lady he lives with? Because this blog is written from my mom's basement, I'm accustomed to inquiries about my gully blogger lifestyle . . . However, this VERY PERSONAL QUESTION has remained unanswered but now might take on increased importance if hard feelings regarding KCMSD cuts continue.
Because nobody really understands "Be 1" there might be more questions regarding the appropriateness of a School Board Prez running a (for profit) ad campaign. Most of the media never really asked questions about "Be 1" because they're lazy. But West was always forthright: Be 1 was a marketing campaign directed at improving education in Kansas City. Still, I never knew if all of those folks handing over cash in droves to the "cause" understood that their "donation" wasn't going to a charity but to promote charities and the cause of local education improvements. I'm not interested in protecting fools and their money but a School Board President is going to have to grow more accustomed to making his marketing moves clearer.
Among a great many people on the Eastside, Airick L. West is known as "Judas." It's a fact of life, Midtown white people love West while the sentiment isn't universally shared on the other side of Troost. Political take downs in Kansas City are fun to watch but when they come from within one of this town's diverse communities, they can get brutal.

So he is using the school district offices for a for-profit business?
I always thought Judas was just a weird fuck with a sexy thing for old white ladies but he is asking for trouble if he is running a business out of the district offices.
No good deed goes unpunished. Welcome to the big leagues Airick. He is smart, honest, and cares about kids. Most of the haters of ALW are people who see their gravy train pulling out of the station.

No only has he sold this district out to the lowest bidder, he did for himself and not for the greater good of the community. There's nothing coming in because he is prepared to give it away. ReplyDeleteI think all of the hateful comments about ALW are from those who lost power and privileges as a result of his leadership. Its just sour grapes. It is time that people take the torch from weak so-called leaders in this city. A lot of the people who point fingers at him have had a hand in destroying the district.

ReplyDeleteI don't believe the current leadership, including many of the clergy, want the black community to succeed. It has been a cottage industry for them.
I think ALW truly wants to make these kids stronger and self sufficient. Who better than one of them? I don't care if he is uneducated, he sounds smart to me and his ideas are very intelligent. I would rather have an uneducated true believer than a educated crook.
Besides, that former President couldn't put a proper sentence together. What kind of role model is a smack talking ebonics spouting angry woman anyway? They can get that at home. Just kidding. Well mostly.
