Over the weekend, some rather attentive TKC readers noted that WDAF followed up on early word that The KC Strip has been a disappointment during its early weeks.
There is some hope for the warmer months but I don't really think it's going to get any better.
Nevertheless . . . What needs to be remembered is that ALL OF THE COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR voted to give this disaster more than half-a-million bucks that's not getting paid back if the thing fails despite meaningless biz world promises.
So, as Downtown Hotel talk ramps up along with even more word regarding light rail . . . Let's remember that The City Council and Mayor have already thrown quite a bit of cash away at a scheme that doesn't seem to be working.

There must be a back story to why the Trolly got traction politically. Anyone that's been around a while has seen these vehicles fail time and time again. Keep digging for the story Tony.. it's an overt waste of public $ and a lot of people are talking about it.
ReplyDeleteCall it what it is. It's a Westport shuttle designed to fuck the P&L. You'll like this TKC but $500K from the taxpayers and then charge $15 a head? People aren't returning to Westport even if it's free. What a joke.

ReplyDeleteThe trolley folly on its face appeared to be friends helping friends as what thinking person would support $30 for a couple to drink all over town?
By the time you had a few drinks your not ready to travel except to home. You want to drink all over town then risk getting a DUI thanks to the "trolley folly"?
Where are the adults, we have children managing our business.
