Pointless press events are the last part of lame Plaza riot coverage. Not even newsies were taking this one seriously.
Think about it: There's barely any money to keep fountains on . . . Not enough cash to avoid local layoffs and cutbacks at City Hall but they're still talking youth programs when X-box is how most 1st world teens are entertained across the planet.
It's the kind of dumb talk that makes the news, but shouldn't and of course Mayor Funky was taking the lead.

If the mayor would stand up and say:

2. The city has no money to create new entertainments for children and no obligation to do so.
3. Curfew violators and other troublemakers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
He could probably redeem his reputation and win re-election.
