Adjusting The Jackson County Charter

I like that every few months in this town there's an overwhelming sentiment to "clean up Jackson County" that eventually goes nowhere.

As of late, the Charter is the latest point of contention where experienced politicos do battle with people who want power but prefer to hide behind a thin veil of idealism.

The subject of felons in the Jackson County Legislature is a high minded way to try and get rid of Henry Rizzo (federal misdemeanor) and James Tindall without relying on pesky voters. Again, the good intentions of so many people concerned about "ethics" fall apart right at the point they work to do way with Democracy in order to impose their will. Because, after all they're right!!! Right?

And The Independence Examiner probably has the most comprehensive coverage of proposed Charter changes that starts with Mike Sanders and his efforts to put limits on professional services contracts . . . Which, I thought, were the only reason to run for County Office.

These topics are developing . . . And maybe a few dozen people (counting Calvin "Cream Puff" Wiliford twice) might care.

But probably not.
