Filings are over for U.S. Congress Offices and a surprising name on the list was Clint Hylton.
Some of the most AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS have the EXCLUSIVE DETAILS on this candidate that could determine the course of the election.
What big media isn't saying is that Clint Hylton is an openly gay dude with several connections to the local LGBT community.
Remember that Congressman Sam Graves and his homeboy Republican Political Machiavelli Jeff Roe made national headlines by going after Former Kansas City Mayor with attack ads that were perceived by many as homophobic.
Kansas City hasn't forgotten about the "Gay Barnes" attack ad and the "San Francisco Values Slur employed by Graves and Co . . . It's so much of an issue that even Mayor "Lame Duck" Funky has taken heat for affiliating himself with Roe among Kansas City's influential LGBT political class.
The attack ads from the Graves & Roe Camp were so blatant and divisive that most of Kansas City stood up to denounce the poor excuse for a strategy.
Meanwhile, on his Facebook page Hylton seems blissfully unaware of just how hardcore Jeff Roe can get in defense of his top client. Here's the latest quote from Clinton: "Hello everyone! It is official! This morning filed to be your next US congressman in the sixth district! Please support me in the upcoming election!"
That's sweet but it sounds like this dude is going for a walk in the park and not up against two of the most battle-hardened (hehe) political warriors in all of the Show-Me State.
First, The Show Me Progress Blog notes that Hylton appears to be an insurance salesman and he will face Doctor Ted Rights of Hamilton in the Democratic primary.
And should he make it through . . .

Before your time SAM GRAVES, defeated the incumbent's son, a STRUNG candidate. To win the dims will need another PAT DANNER. I don't think they've got one. Jeff Roe shouldn't even charge SAM GRAVES for this one.

Have any of you "pundits" been to Mo-6? KC politicians don't do well there. Tom Coleman was the last one to win there. Do you really think the dims will give this guy any money, especially, the kind it will take to beat SAM GRAVES? Jeff Roe is like the great Al Davis of The Oakland Raiders, it's WIN BABY WIN!!
ReplyDeleteGraves intolerance extends way beyond gays. If you are a woman, Graves votes against you. If you are a small business person, Graves votes against you. If you aren't rich and connected Sam Graves is going to vote against your interest. I am so glad that Clint Hylton has the courage to challenge such a regressive and corporate entrenched candidate as Sam Graves. Can't wait to contribute to Hylton's campaign!
