TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION ASKS ATTORNEY GENERAL CHRIS KOSTER FOR AN OPINION ON RACIST RADIO ADS!!!

Thanks to the most AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . . I'm able to post some documentation that questions the legitimacy of racist radio ads currently currently running for White Supremacist Glenn Miller.

THE CONTENTION THAT THESE ADS MUST BE RUN BY RADIO STATIONS IS BEING CHALLENGED BY THE MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION WITH AN INQUIRY TO ATTORNEY GENERAL CHRIS KOSTER!!!

Here's the money quote from the memo:

"So that MBA Member Broadcast Stations may comply with federal law and FCC Rules, The MBA respectfully requests a determination, by the state official that has the authority to decide, as to whether Mr. Miller is a "legally qualified candidate" for U.S. Senate under Missouri law at this time, and if not now, when he would be so considered. Your determination will inform Missouri broadcast stations in their decision regarding whether they have an obligation to broadcast the enclosed advertisements."

Furthermore, there's some question about the guy's name and the legitimacy of the ads . . . The ads identify him as Glen Miller but the MBA also notes that he has had contact with them as "Frazier Miller" so there is also the question of whether or not a nickname or a pseudonym can be used for broadcasting such hateful messages.

All things considered this is a nice step by media in the Show-Me State to seriously inquire about their obligation to run these ads under the law and now it's up to AG Koster to make the call.

Check out the memo to Missouri's AG for yourself:

  4. Hmm, i deplore the racist talk, but honestly, Tony of all people should be a total supporter of free speech, given how he runs people down on here based on rumor, speculations, and innuendo....amazing he gets away with what he does.

  5. Miller's a moron. BUT, I don't want the government deciding what is and is not acceptable political advertising. Today it's quashing a moron like Miller- tomorrow it's stopping someone supporting free tamales for all bloggers who live in their mom's basement.
Seriously- the only question here is whether the guy is a legitimate candidate under Missouri law. If he is, he can say any stupid thing he wants.
The answer to hate speech is not restriction- it's better speech.

  6. Has nothing to do with Missouri law, Entercom's lawboys did thier due diligence on this one. He is a canidate for Federal office and as such can buy whatever station he wants at whatever time he wants at the lowest documented price, he can say what he wants without censorship. It's all about disenting voices.
