TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! CHECK OUT THE JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR ELECTION PETITION!!!

Before any other news outlet in Kansas City, KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS reported a rather brilliant and groundbreaking petition in the Jackson County Circuit Court that could hand the office of Jackson County Prosecutor to Lee's Summit Lady Rachel Townsend.

It's a bold move that capitalizes on the fact that Jackson County has a hard time enforcing Statewide rules and regs. According to Townsend's lawyer she's the only candidate for the office of Prosecutor that has filed properly. So, should she win a decision, Rachel would be the only candidate on ballot who filed correctly including current prosecutor Jim Kanatzar who would be out of luck.

It's really not that complicated and stems from Jackson County being out of the loop on so many important legal details.

NOW RATHER AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS HAVE MADE SURE THAT KANSAS CITY VOTERS CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THE DOCUMENTS FOR THEMSELVES!!!

Check it:

Read the Rachel Townsend Filing Brief

Also check out the full petition for the "writ of mandamus" that would force County Officials to Accept her filing for The Prosecutor's Office.

This case is interesting not only because it's a savvy political move but also because the public will get to see how Jackson County complies with old school Missouri Election Rules.

  2. There's still Independent candidates. And i'd imagine there'd be a backlash if Townsend forced an election with herself as the Democratic candidate.

Did Kanatzar know of this in 2008? maybe he knew as much as Townsend knew in 2008 when she ran in an election that she wants to deem as invalid.

Also experts, does it take a filing fee or a receipt of a fee to file for county office?

  3. Read the documents 7:41. She tendered the filing fee and they refused to accept it. Can't get a receipt if they won't take the money. Tendering payment and a subsequent refusal to accept it is as good as if she paid it.

And, since no independents filed, they can't be placed on the ballot.

  4. This makes no sense. Wasn't Kanatzar just elected in 2008?

  5. Jackson County isn't running the election right.

  6. 9:09 - is the receipt of the fee from a political party required for county races? it is required in state races

also, independents have until sometime in the mid-summer to file, their deadline is not March.

  7. 7:41 backlash by whom? Democratic party officials?

Hilarious that the party wouldn't accept her payment. I love it.
