Lately, local blogger Dan Ryan has found himself returning to the political fray. I appreciated his perspective regarding the School District at the latest hipster website.

But I'm also a big fan of his earlier work.

I saw the piece on the buzz blog about the flirtation with Jeff Roe.

I am a little speechless. I've had e-mail correspondence with Jeff in the past, and I have more than just the headline insights on what he is and what he does.

Jeff Roe, to me, represents the perfect antithesis of what we worked for. Where we wanted to forge a new accomplished-focused approach to politics, he represents the old slander focused approach to politics. Where we tried to focus on change, he focuses on cheap, cynical manipulation.

I respect you too much to draw a line in the sand, but respectfully say that I will have a struggle believing anything that comes from your office if Jeff Roe has any hand in forming the message. And I will have a huge struggle believing that the path we've been on is upward bound.

I don't know if this was part of Gloria's Diary that DeAnn Smith discovered or not but I like the brief excerpt because it puts things in perspective as far as how many people Mayor Funky betrayed and it also puts potential Funky supporters on record regarding how much they have been sold out.
