TKC EXCLUSIVE AND THE SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KCMSD CLOSINGS ARE GOING TO GET COMPLICATED!!!

Kansas City, Missouri School District Closings are going to be nothing more than a hot mess in the near future. While this town celebrates Superintendent John Covington and the skillful hatchet job he's doing on the District, there's a lot of speculation about what's going to happened with all of the old buildings.

Simply selling off abandoned KCMSD structures isn't so simple according to RATHER AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS!!!

Here's the deal . . .

SOME OF THE BUILDINGS ARE BEING USED AS COLLATERAL ON HUGE DEBT HELD BY THE KCMSD!!! THE DISTRICT CAN'T SIMPLY SELL OFF THE BUILDINGS WITHOUT A CLEAR TITLE!!!

So, there is a SERIOUS roadblock that might make Covington's School Closings a lot more complicated.

And it gets worse . . .

THERE IS STILL WORD THAT THE ACE CAMPUS IS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER OR NOT THEY WILL SUE!!!

The Afrikan Centered Education folks have backed off a bit on their tough talk but there are still hard feelings. Among many on the Eastside, Covington has earned a solid reputation as an arrogant administrator and this move is seen (by some) as a bit of a sellout.

So, Covington should probably stop celebrating given that there are more than a few people noting that the school closings might have been very short sighted.
