A recent scandal that first broke on this blog along with ensuing coverage from KCTV5 and The Pitch has now caused a Missouri State Rep. to reconsider his political future.

STATEMENT

RE: 2010 Election

“I have determined that seeking a second term as state representative for the 43rd District would not be in the best interest of my family or my community. Therefore, I am immediately ending my campaign and on Monday will formally file the necessary documents with the Secretary of State's Office withdrawing my candidacy.”

“I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to serve in the Missouri House of Representatives.”

For the record, I think this is pretty brave thing to do and it's what TKC TIPSTERS said that he was planning to do from the start. So often politicos don't face up to their mistake and this is a big first step in making things right, in my opinion.
