There are two sides to every story.
Unfortunately, the following news stories seem to differ regarding details from Congressman Cleaver's now infamous spitting altercation with a teabagger:
NBC Action News: "Cleaver Opens Up About the Spitting Incident"
WDAF: "Cleaver Steadfastly Refuses to Discuss Spitting Incident"
Still, reading through both of the interviews what I understand is that the Former Kansas City Mayor doesn't really want to dwell on the teaparty protest incident. I think that's probably the right strategy since the old guy yelling and spitting on Rep. Cleaver already helped to push through Obamacare and now only seems like sour grapes when Republicans whine about it.
I think you mean the press that lied about the incident helped push through Obamacare.

It was clearly a case of "say it don't spray it." I'm not saying that's not gross too, but it's not the same thing. We've all had someone get too close and spray their words at us. He doesn't want to talk about it or press charges because it wasn't that big of a deal and it wasn't the same as actually spitting on someone.
