After much work, a lot of trying and a bit of soul searching . . . I drank the Google Kool-Aid.
With a lot of instruction and a bit of weeping and crying out in vain, this blog is now on Google Servers and has the ability to use more widgets and other useless sidebar items. All things considered, it's hard not to see the advantages of this move . . . Hell, there are even jump breaks.
The aftermath: A few broken content links that might be up later this week, some busted images but overall my page rank and archives of more than 27k posts are intact.
Sadly, I didn't do a last post on my site feed so the maybe a few of the several hundred people (more than a thousand actually) who check this blog out that way might not catch on till later.
A HELP TO TKC WOULD BE TO TELL INTERESTED FOLKS TO RESET THEIR FEEDS!!!
I'm not sweating it. Strangely, the vast majority of people check out this blog by visiting the front page and not through feed readers.
On the other hand, my host and files are more secure and hosted by the number one search engine in the world AND it's much easier to publish. For the moment I'll be keeping Subscribe links up top.
Notice that there's now pagination, so readers can go back manually to older posts.
There will be some more Spring cleaning on the way . . . Oh, and definitely more links and content.

ReplyDeleteI do not see a difference...yet. If I do have problems, I am such a lazy asshole, I'll just quit. That would be an upside to funk'd.
ReplyDeleteso far so good.... I'll start by saying I blame funk'd for the snow fall. Sure he controls absolutely nothing, not even his own brain, but wtf, I'll blame him any way, He's used to being the jerk.
