IS IT RIGHT FOR RON HUNT TO CALL FOR A KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI SCHOOL DISTRICT SKIP DAY?!?!

Here's the deal . . . I'm not sure if Ron Hunt is wrong about calling for a skip day of protest of Kansas City, Missouri public schools.

The knee-jerk response is that he's messing with the education of students . . . But that's exactly what closings will do as well.

What I don't like that there's no backstory on Hunt.

The dude was a key player in the ousting of the last School Board Superintendent Anthony Amato.

Ron Hunt has been indicted two felony counts of second-degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Worse than that . . .

RON HUNT HAS BEEN DRAWING A CHECK FROM THE KCMSD FOR QUITE SOME TIME!!!

So maybe his motives aren't just political protest. In fact, Hunt and his homies like Marilyn Simmons were, obviously, opposed to these closings.

Still . . . No matter who is leading the charge, the fact that minority communities were mostly impacted by these school closings is undeniable and the is a good reason to listen to any and all voices who stand to lose the most because of School Closings.

  1. What a shock - another "activist" on the take.

  2. Yeah, because what the kids in the District need is another day without education.

  3. Knows Ron Hunt3/19/10, 11:04 AM

Ron Hunt is always trying to extort money from political campaigns. He tells candidates that he can "deliver" African American votes for a princely sum, and he infers that if you do not hire him that he can make you look like a racist. Jail is the best place for this type of scum.

  4. Is Ron Hunt the kind of African American "leader" we want setting the agenda for our school district??? I think I would prefer to have Superintendent John Covington take the lead. He is a far better example of a leader than Ron Hunt!

  5. Yeah Ron, way to go let's teach these kid's that we don't need education!

  6. Ron Hunt is a midget, woman beater, drunk and convict with a raggedy mouth full of gold teeth. He has strong ties to Ajamu Webster, ACE and the Black United Front. He is just trying to keep the checks coming. Have you read the Pitch articles about this guy's history?

  7. Ron Hunt is no better than Jim Rowland. Both are earning taxpayer supported checks. Ron Hunt wants a job action disguised as helping the kids. How much will this cost the district? Head counts are factored into the daily draw down. Jim Rowland wants to stay on his tax supported job and run for political office. He should not be ethically grey.

  8. And he owes a ton of money in back child support.

  11. Whats the class size projected to be for what ages here? And in other urban cities? And how did it go in Pueblo?

Do kids behave better when there's 25 as they do when they're 40 and they're all ADD because htey and their their parents do/did too much dope?

How were scores before this year, when class size has been good? Class size being important is certainly the common assumption... but what's the difference?

And at what ages? Missouri has certainly dumped kazillions of dollars into this district and what did it get us?

Test scores back to the fifties and sixties at Westport? I doubt it.

Has anyone pointed out that maybe the reason the test scores are in the toilet in the KCMOSD is because black kids are stupid.

It's seems obvious when you look at the leaders in the black community.

All of the people who have been leading the school district ('ceptin Supers) are all products of the KCMOSD.

They grew up, went to Spelman or Howard and came back to K.C. to get the money that they deserved by working in management at the district.

They bitched and moaned to get a black superintendent because only a black educator can understand how difficult the driving is on the Road to Entitlements.

They looked at each other and asked themselves why can't we have an Escalade too. They asked why should they be relegated to buying their clothes at Wal-Mart when Harold Pener's is just a short drive away. And they also stock a large selection of Now & Later Gators.

They took over the school district and installed their members into management, not for any power they might get from an office such as that, but because...Dammit, they deserved it.

They wanted to be served gumbo by a white woman. If Bubba's momma deserved it, well so do we.

Which brings us to the year 2010. A year in which they have finally come to the end of the road as educators. Maybe.

The black leaders in the KCMOSD have flushed and flushed that toilet full of money until there's no more money to pay off their sub 2.0 GPA degrees in African American studies that they got from such prestigious U's as UMKC, ala Carol Coe.

So now, because the district finds it will be $50,000,000 short in funds, the black community has put it's nose to the grindstone to come up with a fair and equitable solution, which is...

"We will fight against school closures because a magic genie will appear and make all our money troubles disappear and because we care about our children's education. We will also continue to pass out diploma's to every black kid in K.C., while at the same time continue on the same path as our forebearers...The path of ignorance and bliss.

"And to show everyone we mean business, we will rise up (Hi, Janice)and have our children skip school because we are sick and tired of drinking E&J when everyone knows we deserve to drink Courvoisier and Louie".

to 11:04... Ron Hunt implies... listeners infer. Just making a grammar point. I totally agree with you on Hunt.

  15. @01:59:00 I had classes at Shawnee Mission East with 40+ students and there was no chaos. The classrooms were packed with kids who wanted to learn and worked hard. Just because you went to school with uncontrollable forest apes don't assume all people are like that. If the KCSD had parents that gave a shit about their kids maybe their kids would give a shit about school.

  16. While we're discuss the idiocy of having the kids miss a day of school, why don't we move "Take Your Child to Work Day" to July.
