Busting Local Teacher's Union Is Up Next

Massive layoffs are up next for The Kansas City, Missouri School District. While there are plenty of Administrators that probably need to get lost . . . Word is the hardest hit will be teachers with even more Union busting efforts on the way.

NBC Action News: "Some district teachers are weeks from knowing if they will get pink slips or open new lesson plans next fall."

The Star: "In addition to closing schools, Kansas City Superintendent John Covington promised to cut some of the more than $85 million the district pays contractors."

KCTV5: KCMO School Board To Offer Early Retirement To Teachers

And while this purging is celebrated throughout the media . . . I'm rather surprised that anyone can make an agreement that fewer teachers and resources will help eduction in this town.

  2. GO COVINGTON.

For all you haters, why are you holding on to a system that obviously destroyed a whole generation of people reliant on the public education system?

Oh yeah, because you were making money off it.

  3. It's a shame this school district didn't have a better plan than to hire a hatchet man.

  4. That "early retirement" is such a bunch of horse shit.

So if you worked at a place for 10 years, and get age + years of service = to or greater than 75, you get $20,000?

That will last all of what, about 15 minutes once retired? These people are getting screwed BIG TIME.

  5. Attention! Attention! Carpetbaggers, Politicians, and Snake Oil salespeople… now is your big chance to get rich quick with no history education, no classroom experience and no sweating in the trenches….. and with years to profit before you are outted…. AT NO LEGAL consequence to you.

Take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to sell the distracted and worried public on an educational idea that takes NO training.

Be paid to SUPERVISE and dictate to overworked teachers what they can and cannot teach. It’s easy. Simply follow the magic formula of narrowing curriculum to teach to the state test, demonize and restrict ANY original lesson plans that might recognize differentiation in learning styles and then start raking in the money convincing the public that your history students are achieving.

Imagine, what at one time was only legal in totalitarian states and extremely fundamentalist venues can now be practiced with the BLESSING of self appointed, high power, high dollar, educational big wig, bureaucrats in Washington DC, at your state level, inside your local district and YES, even with the assistance of your former gym teacher/ex-coach principal.

Hurry now, because there are a numerous hound dogs (like Diane Ravitch) who are on your trail. But if you act now, you can make a few $100,000 before the tar is warm and the feathers get plucked. Agents are waiting in California, Arizona and Florida to help you get re-settled in your cushy retirement at bargain basement prices. (Warning: Damage to America, veteran teachers, idealistic students, democratic principles and academic freedom will result. Not responsible for kids that can’t think. Paid for by the “Keep History Boring” Committee,

  6. Why do they keep bringing up union busting now? That was last year's team of Martin and Benson which tried that. The teachers just got a contract last year that is legally binding. If anything this guy has probably increased union numbers because people don't want to get lost in the shuffle this summer. We are talking about the same district which wasn't even sure who was working for them in the fall.
