Aim4Peace Awarded Even More Big Money

Another big check to City Hall's anti-violence program puts them over their inital $600k budget:
"The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCF) has awarded the grant to Aim4Peace. The violence prevention program will receive $300,000 from HCF and an additional $100,000 as a match grant.

HCF is encouraging other community partners to join the Foundation in supporting Aim4Peace and will match contributions dollar for dollar, up to the additional $100,000."
What's important here is that the group's methodology for how they actually "prevent" murder is totally non-existent and relies mostly on first person, anecdotal testimony.

The group puts on everything from trash pickups to picnics in their efforts to curb Kansas City violence. Meanwhile, I think the weather has more influence in thwarting the local death count. Still, it's encouraging to see somebody getting paid while local homicide rates among Black males in this town remain horrifically high.

  4. It's because anyone opposed to Aim4Peace is accused of being racist. Stupid and untrue . . . but effective.
