TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! MIKE SANDERS SCHOOLS CITY COUNCIL IN TIF FIGHT!!!

It seems that Jackson County Exec. Mike Sanders is putting on a seminar of sorts when it comes to keeping the City Council in check during this current TIF fight.

First of all, Sanders is winning the PR war with his aggressive action aimed at providing more representation on the TIF board. There's talk of a settlement that seems more like a surrender coming from The City Council. But the the maneuvers of Mike Sanders don't stop there . . .

KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS ARE TALKING ABOUT A BRILLIANT LEGAL PLAY BY THE COUNTY EXEC WHICH HAS HERETOFORE GONE UNREPORTED BY LOCAL MEDIA!!!

Now, Chris Hernandez broke news before anyone else and noted that the TIF Commission was dropped from the County's lawsuit.

What does that move mean?

In practical terms in means that Jackson County doesn't have to go up against top notch (and high priced) law firm Bryan Cave that represents the TIF Commission and instead Jackson County is up against the most beleaguered lawyer in this entire town: City Hall's own Galen Beaufort.

So Mike Sanders gets all of the nice PR spin with none of damage that might ensue from a fight with one of of the strongest, shark-filled legal juggernauts in town.

This is just one glimpse at the political and strategic cunning of Mike Sanders that is even more impressive than his ongoing and liberal use of hair gel . . . Meanwhile, I hear Mayor Funky is still spending most of his time in Brookside and is always attending to his wife's bare feet.

  1. Brilliant might be a bit of an overstatement T.

  2. Mike probably realized the County, School District and Library would be footing the bill through TIF for the Byran Cave invoices.

  3. indeed. Byran Cave would have beat the shit out of Mike and he would not have looked so smart Tony.

I think Tony is just hoping that Mike will run against the Mayor. Keep wishing on a Star Tony.

    Oops. Sorry about the pun.

  5. T, as a lawyer I can promise you it is very unlikely he dismissed his suit against TIF because of who their lawyers were.

  6. Bryan Cave is a scumbag firm that profits from the defense of stupid rich people and institutions that find themselves in trouble.

I think before you can become an associate there, you have to provide proof that you killed your own mother.

  7. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! They sound almost as bad as Shook.

  8. FYI, Sanders went head-to-head against Bryan Cave during the school districts lawsuit, and he won big there.

  9. A guy by the name of Steve Mauer was the lawyer for Bryan Cave. He is hired to do a lot of their "pro bono" or free client stuff. He is not exactly a lwyer to be feared.

  10. However, to add to my above post, Bryan Cave is full of top-notch lawyers and T got this one totally correct.

  11. Sanders has always been big into the hair gel. Looked like a greaser back in the day in college even.

  12. Pro-bono work is like good works to stay out of Hell.

  13. 5:39, the gel would be ok (ugly, but ok) if it were real hair, but this is just sad.

  14. TIF's should be dead by now. What a scam.
