TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KCMSD SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION NEWS CYCLE STARTS!!!

The elections for the School Board of The Kansas City, Missouri School District are going to be especially nasty. This is a good thing given that for the most part the public hasn't been engaged in the battles of KCMSD for quite some time.

First, let's consider a bit of sacrilege:

The Concerned Clergy Will Hold A Prayer Breakfast This Weekend . . . Ostensibly, petition God and beg that their cronies don't lose power of the patronage that pervades the District.

Pastor Michael Brooks, President; Pastor Frank Douglas, Vice President; Pastor Emanuel Cleaver III, Vice President & Area Ministers will be hosting this holy gathering.

What: A Prayer Breakfast to pray over the KCMSD, our community, our families, our scholars, the current school board elections and the school board candidates. The intention of this prayer breakfast is to bring area ministers (and people of faith) together to pray for the KCMSD, its leadership and those involved with it such that we create a spirit of civility and purpose. Please join us.

Who's invited: All who care about our scholars, our schools and our community

When: This Saturday, January 30th from 8am-10am

Where: Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2801 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64130

UNLESS THEY'RE PRAYING FOR MORE LATINO REPRESENTATION . . . THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BLATANT AND DISGUSTING ATTEMPT TO HANG ON TO KEEP A STRANGLE HOLD ON KANSAS CITY SCHOOL AND THEIR CURRENT STATE OF FAILURE!!!

Sadly, it gets worse . . .

RECENTLY, AN OPPONENT TO SCHOOL BOARD PREZ MARILYN SIMMONS FAILED TO GET CERTIFIED FOR A SPOT ON THE SCHOOL BOARD BALLOT!!!

Mario Marberry turned in 450 signatures to get on the ballot but fell short with a final tally of 217. It was a hardcore slash of his numbers. There is WIDESPREAD SPECULATION that his numbers were exceedingly scrutinized given that he was opposing School Board President Marilyn Simmons.

Meanwhile, Mattie Rhodes Youth Advocate Crispin Rea Jr. was certified with more than 1,200 signatures and I'll be reporting more on his upcoming fundraiser.

Comments

  1. Gwen Grant, Clinton Adams and Airick West does not amount to "widespread speculation." Haters.

  2. Grant+Adams+West=State take over before the end of Nixon's term.

I wonder who gave Mattie Rhodes the money to put Rea on their pad so it could appear he has a job?

    Youth Advocate? Ha!

Failed Funky Toady is more like it.

  3. Grant got no love for West. But I see your point.

    ==============================

Maybe G-d will create another flood and wipe out the School Board and the Teachers Union leaders thus giving the children a chance to have their futures returned to them as well as giving the children chance to get educated.

While he's at it, if G-d is becomes interested, perhaps he could flood the 29th floor of City Hall, The Clowncil Offices, the meeting room at the Downtown Library and the Shabby Shack on West 57th Terrace for good measure.

  6. Crispin Rea is a loser who now has screwed City Hall up so lets move it to the School Board. Isnt it funny also that the City funds his new job . Its easy to get a job as long as the City writes the check

  7. Mario doesn't seem to have tried very hard - I wonder if Marilyn had anything to do with distracting him? I would not be surprised.

  8. School board members don't get paid

  9. How in the hell could Marilyn distract him from getting signatures??!! You sound like an idiot. He obviously was getting signatures from non-registerd voters and didn't bother to check the voter registration roles before he turned them in. Dummy.

  10. The assertion that Mario didn't try hard enough is categorically false. He was at almost all public events around town meeting people, PERSONALLY knocking on doors getting signatures for the past almost two months. Marilyn on the other hand paid people to get signatures for her, or her backers Ajamu Webster & the United Black Front did, and she only showed up at a couple of events that she knew already supported her.

It is ridiculous how this whole process has turned out. He submitted several more signatures than she did and almost all of hers get certified? Sounds very odd to me..

  11. This is an old blog post, but a good one. Even more appropriate since Sam Mann is running for school board. But I don't think that G-d will flood anything, just because someone wishes or prays for it:-) Nancy Merrill Sayed
