In this second part of a TKC weekend exposé of Kansas City Council Lady Cathy Jolly, it is my sad duty to report City Hall chatter which reveals that the most adorable elected official in the building is not quite as nice as she seems.
We all know that Cathy Jolly is cute as a button, cheerful and one of the most charming people in the room during public political functions. However . . .
KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS REPORT THAT CATHY JOLLY HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONALLY CRUEL TO HER ASSISTANT LISA STURGEON CAUSING A BIT OF PUBLIC CRYING AT CITY HALL AND CONCERN AMONG COLLEAGUES!!!
Frankly, I'm shocked that Jolly isn't always "sunshine in sensible shoes" as her public persona would suggest.
Still, I can't help but contemplate the implications of volatile, tempestuous and temperamental behavior for the lady politico behind closed doors. Especially, given that I had heretofore only thought of her as a cheerleader-type.
Oh, and by the way, this isn't the first time that word has leaked of Jolly's temper directed at her assistant.
So, this week all of City Hall was discussing the sinister side of the Council Lady which still doesn't make me like her any less and, frankly, provides a thicker texture to my "contemplation" of her career during the lonely, late night (45 sec.) intervals when I consider local politics.

ReplyDeleteI don't know her personally, but I had cause to work with her briefly over the phone. She really went above and beyond the call of duty. Besides being exceedingly helpful, she's also quite funny.
Always suspected Jolly was an authoritarian, based on the policies she promotes. Now I'm convinced she's also an asshole.
Has anyone every seen Lisa Sturgeon and Jim Giles in the same room at the same time? Ya never know when the Clark Kent/Superman thing is going on.
