TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! Annexation Supporters Claim KCFD Chief Smokey Dyer Second Guesses Tomahawke Ridge?!?!?!
My guest spot on last night's Darla Show was rather interesting . . . Somebody claiming to be "Chris" the attorney representing the Tomahawke Ridge developers made a rather bold statement that has more important implications than the fate of yet another lame subdivision in Kansas City, Missouri.
Earlier BlogKC reported that: "Fire Chief Smoke Dyer says fire trucks will take twice as long to respond than the current city standard: “There is no doubt in my professional opinion that we cannot provide adequate fire protection services to a subdivision situated at this location."
IN SUPPORT OF THE ANNEXATION AND DEVELOPMENT "CHRIS" CLAIMED THE KCFD CHIEF WENT BACK ON HIS WORD AND NOW SAYS HE'S COOL WITH A MIDDLE-CLASS GHETTO OUT IN BFE AND FAR AWAY FROM ANY FIRE STATION!!!
Again, this claim from supporters of the development/annexation was interesting because it attaches itself to the credibility of one of Kansas City's most beloved politicos who has proven to be rather influential in many recent City Hall decisions.
Still, "Chris the lawyer" was a great defender of the annexation and far above my skill level in his contention that the lame cookie-cutter project was a net gain to KC and would pay for any precious services . . . In fact, when he's done pushing through this development . . . I'd like to hire him to build a perpetual motion machine I've been contemplating.
Smokey knows that KC Firefighters, who have to live within the city bounderies, tend to move as far away from KC proper as they can, so the Tomahawke development is bound to become a haven for his work force. This will increase response time in terms of his Firefighters getting to work in "the city."
ReplyDeleteI will not be surprised if this whole annexation bruhaha started because Kim Carlos and her Firefighter husband want to move to Tomahawke. They already live within about a hundred yards of the end of KC, as is. But Kim may want to move just a little farther away from all "those people" in KC.
Chris Byrd, the lawyer, is one of Jeff Rowe's lackeys, who is now peddling influence at City Hall. This horrible example of ex-urban sprawl will be an outrage if he and "Dead" Ford get this thru the council. When will we ever learn. We can't afford to maintain the infrastructure we have now, and these influence peddlers want to saddle us with more crappy suburban tact housing.
ReplyDeleteisn't it TOMAHAWK RIDGE (no "e" on the end of Tomahawk)?
ReplyDeleteThey spell it wrong.
ReplyDeleteBlah..Blah..Blah..nobody cares.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much the developers had to pay Kim Carlos in order to buy Cindy Circo's vote on this one...
ReplyDeleteTony, you couldn't analyze an empty sack. Smokey is obviously saying this in the hopes that a new station will be built up there. That means more people in KCFD. However, if they're going to annex it, they WILL NEED A NEW STATION. Both for the fire truck and the MAST ambulances that will be put in these stations.
ReplyDeleteThe people living there, should they be part of KCMO, should get the same fire and EMS services as the inner city. So if the city is going to annex it, they owe it to those people to protect them.
