Republican Denny Hoskins Uses State Office for Campaign Purposes Films campaign video from State Office on two occasions raising serious questions

Jefferson City, MO—Republican Denny Hoskins has used his state office on two occasions to film campaign updates from his official office, which raises serious legal questions as to whether it violates state and federal laws dealing with misuse of state resources.

“While Republican Denny Hoskins is touring his district talking about ethics, he has now been found to have filmed at least two campaign videos from his official state office which raises serious questions as to whether he has violated of federal and state laws,” said Chris Moreno, Executive Director of the Missouri House Democratic Campaign Committee, “Now Denny needs to answer serious questions: Was state staff used to film these campaign videos? Was state equipment used to film these campaign videos? In a time when his Republican leadership is reportedly under FBI investigation for allegedly passing bills for large campaign donations, taxpayers deserve to know these answers.”

In the campaign videos, Rep. Hoskins attacked the Governor’s State of the State address and talked about passing a non-binding resolution regarding Health Care Reform.

“What makes this worse, in one of the videos, Denny claimed his top priority was to “make sure Johnson County schools were fully funded” all while knowing in 2009 Johnson County schools lost out on over $11,301 directly due to Denny Hoskins not paying over $21,000 in taxes.” Said Moreno.
