Mayor Funkhouser: "I don't know if we even budgeted for snow removal this year"

I have no idea why so many d-bags in Kansas City are impressed that Mayor Funky called a press conference early Sunday Morning in order to spout meaningless PR to unquestioning second string reporters

What's more interesting about the Mayor's messed up PR stunt is that the "Smart with the money" elected official demonstrated a rather embarrassing level of ignorance when it comes to his strongest selling points as a politico.

Check it:
"During the news conference, Funkhouser, a former city auditor who campaigned on his knowledge of the city's budget and promised to emphasize basic services, was asked how much the city had budgeted for snow removal this budget year.

"I don't know if we even budgeted for snow removal this year," Funkhouser replied. He added that the city "probably did" but would fund the snow removal from the city's contingency fund."
Wow.

It's on tape . . . And NBC Action News Newsie DeAnn Smith is gloating on Twitter:

Meanwhile . . . Local streets are still crappy, neighborhood struggle without access to this important City Resource and they Mayor's rhetoric gets stuck under even a modicum of questioning.

  2. Where did you find a street that you could put the bobble head doll and it was not buried in snow. I got my hummer out to clean my driveway yesterday. Kansas City only plows were people with power live.

Big Jeff Roe... let the Squid come back to City Hall. Resurrecting the Gruesome Twosome is a task that is beyond even someone as smart and powerful as you. The return of the Squid combined with the Snow Removal Debacle will seal their removal from the Mayor or Co-Mayors chair and remove these two municipal vermin from our lives hopefully forever!

Since most of the Maor's time is spent in staff meetings in his home, the Shabby Shack, I wonder if there was a need to plow his street. Certainly, he won't be able to attend meetings around town because the City has not yet plowed and salted (do we even have any road salt left or has the Squid used it all salting her eggs) the streets making them impassable.

Memo to Campaign Donors: If anyone is thinking about giving money towards the re-election of the Gruesome Twosome please note that it seems that Jim Nutter Sr won't be with the Funk (to raise money like last time...come to think of it, almost no one who was with the Funk last time will be there this time) and if you use your head and combine this with his inability to raise money on his own along with the inevitablity of his defeat and removal from office you will realize that whatever small amount of money contributed won't go for the campaign but will be sucked up by Big Jeff Roe, the republican campaign consultant from the Northland that has become the Feckless Funk's new campaign guru who doesn't seem to be indicating that he will work on the Funk's re-election campaign for free. So it's possible, that whatever little money the Feckless Funk raises will all go to Jeff Roe. On the plus side, Big Jeff Roe does seem to have been successful in muzzling the Squid so I suppose if he gets all of the campaign money as a fee, g-d bless him for the help he has given us by keeping the putrid Gloria away from City Hall and out of our lives.

Keep on muzzling her, Big Jeff!

  6. Where is the City Manager in all this? They Mayor is no more responsible than any other member of the council.

The former Kansas City Auditor of the Century who seems to have left his brains at the front door of the Mayor's Office apparently didn't even know if the City had budgeted money for the delivery of an essential city service, one that will make the city UNSAFE if not performed and you are looking to deflect blame?

Oh, by the way, the Funk along with the Council Titans fired the last City Manager and it can be said without the possibility of doubt that the new CM has proven incapable of dealing with the SNOW REMOVAL DEBACLE CRISIS.

Tony, you might want to examine Troy Schulte's role in the current debacle... he's been the CM for more than a month and it isn't like he did not know snow was coming and that leaving the snow on the ground unplowed would be UNSAFE. What has Troy done to get the funds necessary to get the snow removed? Anything? Or is his inability to handle this crisis an indication of the type of City Manager the Northland Council Cabal along with the Feckless Funk wrought upon us?

  10. The parking lots of Home Depot and Costco are cleaner than Main Street.

You can barely drive down two lanes on Main, and the parking lots are nearly melted. Wish Funky would budget for some snow removal!

Quit bitchin'. You voted for the Ass and his Sphincter of a wife.

Too lazy to shovel your own streets?

If you guys would pay some taxes instead of depending on outsiders to pay it for you then maybe you would have the services that every other city has.

    Losers!

  13. Half of us did not vote for him, only the bigots who were too stupid to find their way to Johnson County and Lee's Summit to join their kind voted for him.

I know....let's bitch about the mayor! Wow, people will read that!

Another reason I'm happy to live in Johnson County. Yes, my street is still covered with snow, big freaking deal!
