This just might be one of the most encouraging things I've ever read about Dr. Covington . . . HE'S FIGHTING WITH SCHOOL BOARD PREZ MARILYN SIMMONS!!!

"Superintendent John Covington said written questions from Simmons this week about the district’s budget accused his administration of being nontransparent and of making budget transfers that would have been illegal.Seriously, one of the things that has the KCMSD in such poor shape is that so many people are too afraid to take on certain entrenched and politically connected School Board members . . . It seems that a great many people have been emboldened by the large number of people Airick L. West has encouraged and helped to run for School Board positions . . . And really, anybody talking back to Simmons in public is a welcomed sign . . . On the contrary, maybe it's a signal that Covington isn't going to be around much longer depending how elections turn out.
The district’s finance officer explained the budget changes, and Simmons accepted the explanation.
But Covington bristled at Simmons’ original assertion that the district had violated federal regulations. He called it “a serious allegation.”
“We’re not going to jail for anybody,” he said."
Covington appears quite immature.

ReplyDeleteAh Tony it's a shame you can't see the forest for the trees. Liberty school board did'nt ask questions about their budget and look what happend to them. Just admitt that you do not like Marilyn and that's okay. She was doing her job by asking questions something your boy Airick should have done instead of looking like oreo when the white boy does'nt have an opponnet. Where is that outrage.
ReplyDeleteMs. Simmons accused the Super of making illegal transfers. She found him guilty and said prove your innocence. Of course the board should ask questions. But what does it say when the Board Chair goes gunning for the new superintendent after 6 months! Same old, same old.
ReplyDeleteJMarilyn Simmons better hope that no one looks deeper into her own allegations of corruption and cronyism. She is so worried about the budget because that would be taking away from her family members employed in the district and from her boss Amaju's school, ACE. How can you be president of the school board and be an employee of the one of the mail people running a school that gets contracts and funding from the school district? Covington should be questioning Simmons about the kickbacks she's received from her cronyism and nepotism over the years. I hope that the public wises up and vote this idiot off of the board or either have her removed due to a conflict of interest. I wonder what dirt did they do to keep Mario's name off the ballot to keep him from running against Simmons. Mario actually cares about the kids and would have won had he been allowed to run against her. They all should be in jail.
