TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY MAINSTREAM MEDIA AND A FEW AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEADERS CHALLENGE A TKC STORY!!!

Close news watchers might have noticed that yesterday a great many respected African-American leaders and a couple of reporters whom I respect tacitly admitted that TKC TIPSTERS LEAD THE LOCAL NEWS!!!

The Revs, Alvin Brooks and a few others came out against a petition and a proposed P&L District march first reported on TKC thanks to AWESOME TIPSTERS!!!

Sadly, because so many people in mainstream media want to keep the public stupid, they didn't cite the source i.e. this juggernaut of local blogs.

Here's the collection of their vague reporting that strangely admits they don't know much about the story . . .

Local NAACP Against Massive March Petition

African American coalition opposes march on P & L District

KC Big Dogs Organize to Block P&L Confrontation . . . A thanks to Michael Mahoney who at least noted the story came from "a well-read" website.

Here's the money line . . .

"The other mystery is who’s behind the petition drive and the call for a march on the district. The petition doesn’t say."

I know but I'm not saying . . . That's for the folks behind this effort to reveal but I do have another fact from AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS that I'd like to share . . .

THIS PETITION ALREADY HAS 1,000 SIGNATURES!!!

It's also important to note that some of these same folks weren't supportive of the First Major March against the P&L District in November . . . Sources at the scene note that some of these same Revs drove around the area to see if a crowd gathered and once a sizable assembly of people showed up in the cold and rain . . . They quickly jumped on the side of protesters.

Part of me wants to rail against Alvin Brooks for being so soft-spoken on the P&L District issue but he's an old guy who I respect very much despite all of the nasty rumors that continually hound him. Heck, I even thought he should have been Mayor at one point.

In any event . . . To demonstrate the mainstream media and many leaders in the African-American community are REALLY FAR BEHIND on this story . . . I'll finish this post with yet another EXCLUSIVE detail courtesy of AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . .

THERE'S GOING TO BE A BIG PRESS CONFERENCE CONCERNING THE MARCH AND THE PETITION DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF THE NEW YEAR WHEN LOCAL MEDIA WILL CATCH UP WITH TKC!!!

In the meantime, local media and kindly old school leaders of the African-American community can check out the many people in the know who (thankfully) read this blog.

Natch.

  1. Wow, one thousand signatures in a city of 400,000! That's like one-quarter of one percent! A mandate!

If it's an internet petition, that's even better.

  2. Yeah, no need to get all riled up about discrimination... it was taken care of back in the 60s. Alvin and Freedom will sell out for virtually nothing. Tell me Cordish didn't hand them a couple of bucks to do their shuck and jive routine.

  3. What type of city breeds people who are maliciously and constantly at others throats? And those who write racist rhetoric in 2010? Shame on Kansas City and a few surrounding towns. Guess I'll get off this blog and check to find folk who appreciate themselves and their city. Remember, whatever occurs, the NAACP will definitely take care of its business in July 2010 as it has done for 100 years.

  4. Did Al Brooks and Freedom Inc agree to partner with the Power and White District BEFORE the Power and White District decided to SUE the Commission on Human Rights...what's more embarassing Al Brooks or Anita Russell jumping in bed with the Cordish Group or them taking money from them?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I don't think I have ever seen a company as corrupt as cordish.

    It boggles the mind.

    ReplyDelete
  6. all this about wearing saggy ass jeans, seriously- we have all the other problems solved ? no wonder our schools are so incredibly dismal. YOU IDIOTS ARE FUCKING MY TOWN WITH THIS DRIVEL. hope you are proud.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Al Brooks and Freedom and the Powerand Light District...doesn't anyone else smell a rat or two?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Is the naacp still against a march after the Cordish group sued the commission on human rights? I'm telling you, how much money did the naacp take from Cordish?

    ReplyDelete
  9. The petition does NOT HAVE 1,000 SIGNATURES! That is a lie! I know because I am helping gather them and most of us quite because Micheal Fletcher has not paid us!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. if fletcher is behind this than you know its going to be BIG.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 11:32 you a lie

    ReplyDelete
  12. The NAACP did not take anymore money than the Urban League, SCLC, Bishop Tolbert and the others that are crying racism took. Can we get a petition together to get something done about the 109 homicides that have taken place in the city and the majority are young black males? Were the 1,000 people who signed during the snow storm registered voters who actually pay taxes. I agree if Fletcher is behind it it is gonna be BIG. A BIG MESS.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow it sounds like according to 12:03 that Fletcher is the only one not taking money from Cordish, maybe that's why he's fighting and the others aren't?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, Freedom does usually need to "get paid" to take a side.

I would also like someone to reference a new clothing boutique that opened in the p&l and the sweetheart deal that it got. Could it be just a bit related to the fact that the owner is a "lady friend" of the honorable Mr. Brooks?

    ReplyDelete
  15. No Fletcher champions himself as "the only attorney who fights for Black people". So his political issue is that he is fighting for Black people to get into the Power and Light District. I would like to see him as the others have stated fight and take a stand against Black on Black murders. Not being able to go into the Power and Light District is not the reason Blacks are killing each other.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Probably the reason Fletcher isn't taking money is because he doesn't live here and isn't around long enough to get on their payroll. All he is doing is energizing Sharon Brooks campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  17. all I know about Fletcher is this he isn't afraid to fight and he won't take money from the companies he is fighting, unlike Mr. Brooks and Freedom Inc.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 12:59 maybe its because fletcher made millions of dollars and won't sell us out like sharon sanders brooks?

    ReplyDelete
  19. sharon brooks won't say anything against Cordish because she has accepted contributions from Cordish.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Officers and members of the NAACP don't receive pay for services rendered to the organization. The 2010 convention will be a success because of Kansas Citians and other allies who support upward mobility for our city.

Read Isaiah 43: and attempt to comprehend.

    ReplyDelete
  21. NAACP - Now Accepting All Cash Payments - Has not done ANYTHING since the 60s. Freedom to do nothing and get paid for it while we are under ethics investigations, Inc. is a JOKE. The central city has done nothing but get worse while these people have allegedly been working towards progress. These people are blind to the institutional racism that affects the inner city on a daily basis. Or maybe just not smart enough to understand it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 2:02 you don't seriously believe that type of response is going to mislead anybody into believing that the NAACP has NOT ACCEPTED MONEY FROM CORDISH or its directors, officers or employees--you don't believe that do you?

    ReplyDelete
  23. And Al "I lost to Gloria Squitiro" Brooks has been utterly innefective. A nice guy - but he has been window dressing for years...

    ReplyDelete
  24. toadstool_watcher12/29/09, 5:11 PM

Would you consider Alvin Brooks nice if you are a grieving mother and Good OLD Al helps you with the burial of your slain child via Ad Hoc Group Against Crime .... then works you like a 'foot long'? Sex is nice when it is offered, but not when it is expected as payment.
What I find odd is that NAACP has been MIA during the funk'd fuck ups, silent on funk'd's current campaign to court the "poor, old Black Folk" to get squit back in city hall. They have lost much respect.

and that asshole, Fletcher, another funk'd flunky. He needs to stay out of KC. Screaming "JEW BOY! JEW BOY! JEW BOY!" at the cops during his arrest was the HIGHLIGHT of his career. His hatred of black women is palatable. Sharon should feel afraid, but she needs to be replaced by a competent person, not Fletcher/funk'd trash.
    who signed the complaint?

    ReplyDelete
  25. you white guy Fletcher haters are pathetic, AFTER a jew cop makea a racist statement to hm he responds in the same way he was attacked--in his house, the same jewish cop arrests him for not paying a cab--an accusation that was thrown out of court after fletcher proved he DID PAY the cab and now he hates "black women" because he runs against the worst city councilmwoman ever, if anything he's stupid for coming back here to deal with you stupid ass fools. as a black guy, i cannot wait for Fletcher to run and win!

    ReplyDelete
  26. 5:11, if you want to say that Jew Boy incident was the highlight of his career and he hates black women, shows that you don't know Fletch.

If you were going into a fight, you would rather have him on your side than go up against him.

Interesting perspective on Al Brooks though. I always heard he was a horn dog - but never knew he was holding the vigils to screw mourning mothers. Not shocked though.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Murder rate is more important.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 2:49 PM You should offer support to the 100-year-old NAACP that holds 1st-class conventions and boosts revenue during its stay. I'm sure Cordish, the City, civic, business, churches and other organizations will support the convention BUT NOT dole out money into individuals' pockets without contractual agreements and fruitful services. That's the proper way to do business in Kansas City

    ReplyDelete
  29. 6:51 so we can all now agree that the naacp IS TAKING MONEY FROM CORDISH, as to supporting the naacp--i'll do that when they stop begging for money from white people and attacking anybody of color who tries to get them to stop begging for money from white people.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Of course NAACP is taking money. But that's not important. Kansas City needs to realize that this becomes a non issue or just a story about enforcement if Tax money was not involved. Mind KC's finances and the rest of our problems will fall into place. I'm tired of talking about race. It's about the money.

    ReplyDelete
  31. that is funny 7:19, sad and true, but still funny.

    ReplyDelete
  32. good point on the finances will fix most of our problems, its just a lot easier picking on black people.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow. These preachers, political and community leaders lie, waffle and vacillate so much on this issue that it is hard to keep up. No wonder why people don't trust them or take them seriously.

Most of the "leaders" of these ineffective, irrelevant and outdated organizations that have formed this "coalition" are old as Methuselah. This is not even their fight for real. They are out of touch and over-the-hill and need go sit down somewhere, seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Little Miss Yancy, Shame on you for dissing your Mom and Dad, if they're still living. How much older are they than you? Be very careful and not disrespect your elders who are still active in the community. The Methuselah gang are on the frequent voter list. Hope you live a long and meaningful life. Your words are being saved for future reference. Lullaby & good night!
