ReplyDeleteThe E tax is a big deal but face it, most employees hate downtown. They would rather drive 15 minutes from their OP home. Contrast that with a 45 minute commute, $50 a month to park, getting your car vandalized or stolen and the burbs look pretty good. Sure a few young hipsters like to live and work downtown but not the average worker.
ReplyDeleteThe downtown has such an active and vibrant nightlife, too. Your living room. If that gets boring, you can pay $50 for an outing to P&L, get frisked, and deal with the thugs.

You might have someone try to steal your wallet while walking home. Then, if you're really lucky, you can listen to a car alarm go off for 12 hours outside your window because some stupid skank banging some douche from the bar has a crappy car.
