Again, kudos to the KCPD for being so forthright with their reporting of local homicide stats . . . However, so many folks concerned with crime in this cowtown must note that KC has more murders in 2008 and 2009 than we did in 2007 and that demonstrates a lack of progress in dealing with the most important topic in Kansas City.

You use numbers in whatever way that sounds the worst or most dramatic. Fact is there are 17 fewer homicides than last year at this time and so you have to go back to 2007 to make a story.
