TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! New Niece's Now Open!!!

AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS are all over town and over the weekend they found a new, local hangout:

"Niece's has finally opened their restaurant at 65th and Troost. Like the other ones they own, it's great food. You'll have to go there for breakfast or lunch. Even though it's near Brookside, the crowd is definitely the Niece's crowd comprised mostly from the African-American Community. I had breakfast there this morning and it was really good."

Just now I found a pretty good review of the old place from Ferruzza . . . The New Place is in a converted Pizza Hut and everyone says it's pretty good.

Countdown till the many mainstream media and bloggy readers in this town check out this post and then "discover" the place in order to write their own condescending review.

Comments

  1. You can't even go out for a meal without taking note of the racial breakdown of the customers. Just what the fuck is the matter with you?

  2. It was a quote. Shitheels learn to read.

  3. What's the dress code for white folks there? Can I have my underwear showing, grab my crotch and make lewd comments to a "sista" or two while I'm in there?

What if I just hang around for 4-5 hours with my "boys" and not spend $ while I stare down people coming in and out supporting the place all the while pissing and moaning about the prices?

    Think about it....

  4. 65th and Troost might be physically located near Brookside, but it's about 15 light years from Brookside in any other measurement. Nice try, though. Keep playing.

  5. Ditto 9:14. If I acted the way African American's act in Midtown I would be on the news.

  6. Re 10:11 It's those Mid-Town jack offs that the P&L wants to limit, otherwise it'll go down the tubes like Westport.

  7. Did you have the pig snout sammy, or some oxtail? Either would have been cannibalism for you T.

  8. this photo is about 30 blocks from where the restaurant is … = ?

also, where is the quote being quoted from … anony tip quotes = meh, esp. considering reader-reaction.

  9. Don't flatter yourself. Everyone will read about it in The Pitch, not here.

  10. Yep...a bunch of white folks should go on out there and just hang out and fill space...see how that gets covered...

  11. What's the matter with you people? If you don't like how this person does their commentary on this business then why don't you do something about it and create your own site instead of coming here trying to destroy something someone else had the gusto to create.

If you are scared to travel east of Troost because its the "black" side of town then don't come. It will be your lost for sure because all races are welcomed and will be treated well with that old fashioned Southern hospitality spirit where nobody is a stranger and everybody is family from the moment you walk in the door.

If you want good home cooked "Soul Food" meals then come on over to Nieces and see for yourself what it is about and why people keep coming back. I've have tried breakfast, dinner, and lunch at all of the locations and I can not say there was a time I received bad food or bad service.

On Sunday's church folks pack the house at all locations so go early.

    My Favorites:
Breakfast - 2 Pork Chops fried right, toast, eggs, and potatoes

Lunch/Dinner - Fried Chicken, mash potatoes, green beans, and roll

    or

Chicken and dressing, yams, mac & cheese, and roll

Desserts: Lemon & chocolate cake and on Sundays Bannana Pudding

The food might be salty to you if you eat a diet where you use very little salt. Black people salt and season their food. What can I say. They do.

They also accept call-in orders. There have been many days I've called in an order on the way home from work and I'm to lazy that day to cook, yet I want to eat a good meal. Most times its hot and ready when I arrive. I had to wait 5 minutes once or twice. I dont mind because I know it will be hot.

Now people lets stop the non-sense everything does not have to be racial.

Yes the restaurant was on the news because some ignorant person wanted to shoot at a guy she knew who came into the parking lot. I've been going to Nieces for over 7 years. I was not there that day when it occured. I have never seen anything like that anytime I ever attended. It won't stop me from going because ignorant people are everywhere and I'm going to live my life and enjoy "ALL" of KC despite them.

Remember never live in fear or let the words or actions of others cause you to live in fear. When you do they win and you lose free control over yourself and your mind.

+1 ... I went there for breakfast the other day... great food and great atmosphere. The whole comment on race is rediculus, everyone is welcome at this restaurant.

  13. The food is good. The area is fine. 30 years ago this spot was next to a golf course called blue hills. Today its the hood? Give me a break, btw tony you are the reason people are soo racist.
