TKC CONFIRMED!!! KANSAS CITY BLACK CLERGY SHINES A LIGHT ON CITY COUNCIL CAUTHEN COUP SINS!!!

It's nice to see the discussion we had earlier today on TKC was played out later in the afternoon by the mainstream media.

The Fallout:

Mahoney blog published the press release outright . . .Concerned Clergy Reactions to Cauthen Dismissal, ‘Will Not Forget’

Here are the main points of the complaints expressed this afternoon:

1)The "unprofessional manner" Cauthen was suspended.

2) The fact that Cauthen was escorted from the building by a member of the City Hall security staff.

3) Whether or not "the process followed the rule of law".

4) That Cauthen's dismissal, according to a press release, "was done 'in secret', without discussions with the other six members of the Council".

5) They want a reason why Cauthen was suspended.

Chris Hernandez follow-up too: Leaders Unhappy About Cauthen Dismissal

Here's a main point that will be missed among many dimwit news watchers:

THE TOPIC OF RACE WAS NOT A MAIN TALKING POINT USED BY THE GROUP VOICING THEIR CONCERNS ABOUT CAUTHEN'S OUSTER!!!

In fact . . . It's mostly white backlash noting the topic of race in their hurry to justify government run in secret.

But that's not the end of the story . . .

A TKC EXCLUSIVE FACT: THIS STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES BY THE BLACK CLERGY IS LEADING TOWARD A MOVEMENT FOR A NEW POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE IN KANSAS CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY!!!

There is talk of cleaning house . . . And this new group just might have a bit more "ethical" ground to stand on (at least from the outset) than other political clubs like Freedom Inc.

Nevertheless . . . The biggest losers in today's move might be Council ladies Cindy Circo, Beth Gottstein and Mayor Funky given that they all need votes from the African-American community to even think about achieving another term.

Still, this "statement of principles" on the Cauthen suspension is the most interesting thing about the story so far . . . (other than Zoe Saldana bikini photos) Especially if it leads to new political leadership in Kansas City's African-American community.

  2. every time i think "well, maybe it's time we had different government representation," i remember that carol coe is still out there somewhere.

  3. Where was the outrage over 'rule of law' when the Council violated the charter to extend Wayne's contract in the first place?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Council did not violate charter to extend Cauthen's contract, just made a boneheaded move that we are paying in hard tax dollars.
Circo, Gottstein, Marcason and Johnson will need to be very industrious for the rest of this term. They have an uphill battle to retain their seats. I will not vote for these weak people.

  5. The Black community hasn't had effective and cohesive leadership since Bruce Watkins jr. died almost 30 years ago. (1980) Its been a "who's on first", Chinese fire drill ever since.

Freedom Inc. is dead, their once powerful endorsement has dwindled to nothing more than a few illegally places campaign signs in urban core medians and rights of way.

There's not a corporate outfit around today that doesn't escort people out of the building -white or black. That's just good, smart business!

  6. Susan, I will be voting for Circo, Gottstein, Marcason and Johnson because they are strong and care about our city, not just themselves!

  7. anon 4:30,

It's going to be quite a feat to vote for both Marcason and Johnson. Unless you live in both districts at the same time. But I guess you're the normal dumbass KC voter that gave us this bunch in the first place.

  8. OOOHH big threat, they're going to form a new political action commitee. Now I'm really scared. I bet they're apologizing to wayne cauthen right now hoping he'll come back. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  9. i don't give a fuck about any of them except red light camera jolly. i want that bitch out.

  10. i always thought Cauthen was a monkapotamus. a rare cross between a monkey and a hippo.

  11. how much does a seat on the council pay and what kind of bennies do they get?

trying to figure out why anyone would want such a shitty job.

there has to be a shitload of under the table gratuities going on for all these crazy people wanting to run for council and mayor.

I am surprised that anyone who is black has ever met Wayne Cauthen.

  13. silly dumbass coons.

  14. There is no one in the public eye who is worth a bucket of warm spit.

  15. This public squabble between the "Cauthen had to go!" faction and the "We didn't like the way Cauthen was treated" faction is benefitting the real parties that are responsible for our current political crisis - The Civic Council. This secret society (Kansas City's version of the Knights Templar) is really pulling everybody's strings and pitting all us lower level types against each other. This current controversy is just another manufactured crisis designed to divert our attention to their evil and greedy misdeeds. Nothing pleases them more than to see the east siders fighting with the white trash (that includes the mayor and council). What say you Terry Dunn?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok, this is getting ridiculous. We all know that the firing of Wayne Cauthen was not a racial issue. But the manner in which he was terminated was very vindictive and underhanded. Mark Jones was given the boot by the County in the same way Wayne Cauthen was booted by the City--and Mark Jones is white...

If people are as upset as they claim to be about all of this, then quit jawjacking, and take action instead of complaining and issuing idle threats of political revenge. And how are they oing to demand an apology for the Black city councilmembers when Sharp, Ford and Jolly were also left in the dark about Cauthen's suspension and termination on the day it ocurred. But we all saw this coming. Nobody was blindsided in the whole scheme of things. Not even Wayne himself. It was only a matter of time. Funk, Hermann, Skaggs and Johnson had been gunning for the guy for two years and finally convinced Circo, Gottstein and Marcason to bring some more bullets. I hated to see it haapen the way it happened and was hoping that Cauthen would run before the axe dropped. But then again, I see why he let them force him out, given the fact that he will leave KC with over a quarter of a million dollars to resume his life in Denver. Cauthen may be mad now, but will be grinning wider than a Chesire Cat all the way to the bank once that severance check is cut and deposited into his account.

How come these holy hypocrites don't raise this much hell for the homeless, the health care crisis, children being beaten, raped, killed and neglected, crime, violence, poverty, racial profiling and police brutality being out of control in this community??? *slaps forehead* Oh, Now I remember, because its the same old, tired, candle carrying, slow-singing, scared-to-death, do-nothing Negroes who have mounted themselves up as leaders and swear that they are the definitive voices of the Black community in Kansas City. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

  17. If 4:30PM votes as they say for both Macarson and Johnson, the FBI will be certain to investigate them for voter fraud!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Susan, how do you make the claim that Marcason, Circo, Gottstein, and Johnson are weak? They stood up to patronage and Wayne's crooked deals and and did what was right... voted the bum out. That isn't weakness, that is strength... and right makes might.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Gottstein is not weak.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey Yancy they were not fighting for those things because they were fighting for your favorite cause. So that nigs could get in The Power and Light District and mingle with us good ole' white folks.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Susan, here is the section of the Charter that deals with this:

    http://www.municode.com/resources/gateway.asp?sid=25&pid=10156

Part I: Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri: Article II: Division 2: Part 3: City Manager: Sec 218

"Upon completion of this process the Mayor shall be responsible for submitting a resolution to the Council for the appointment of a City Manager."

Following rule of law would have been if the Council let the Mayor do his job, even though they didn't agree. Instead, they usurped rule of law! This was the actual "palace coup", and it was upheld in Jackson County court. I'd very much like to read that judges opinion. What a useless jerk.

    City manager announces personnel changes

City Manager Wayne Cauthen announced today some senior staff personnel changes. Cauthen said, “I am exercising my right as city manager under the City Charter and City ordinances to make the changes.”

Stanley Barrett will no longer hold the position of director of the Housing and Community Development Department. Barrett has the option of asking to be reassigned to another position. Cauthen appointed DeBorah Williams as acting director of the department. Williams currently serves the department as lending program manager.

Larry Frevert will no longer serve as acting director of the Public Works Department. Frevert has the option of asking to be reassigned to another position. Cauthen has appointed Stanley Harris as acting director of the department. Harris currently serves the department as city engineer.

John Thigpen will no longer serve as director of the Human Resources Department. Thigpen has the option of asking to be reassigned to another position. Cauthen appointed Gary O’Bannon as acting director of the Human Resources Department. O’Bannon currently serves the department as deputy director.

Russ Widmar will no longer serve as director of the Aviation Department. Because the director’s position is the only position Widmar has held with the City, he does not have the option of asking to be reassigned to another position. Cauthen appointed Phil Brown to serve as acting director of the department. Brown currently serves the department as deputy director of operations and maintenance.

Cauthen said, “The senior staff members that I have appointed to serve as acting directors of these departments will keep things running smoothly to ensure a seamless transition. It is now time to move forward and look to the future as we work to improve city government.”

  24. Yes, where was the concern when Wayne fired most department directors for no reason and had them escorted out of City Hall by security? Wayne is a tyrant.
