Dark Days For Independence Subway

A lot of people complain that news reports don't provide information on the racial background of suspects . . . As if the average dweeb media watcher is going to go out and look for crooks like Batman.

And while I've always believed information wants to be free . . . This report of repeated Subway robbery news includes a bit of overkill with description of a "man in black" assailant.

For the third time this month, the Subway sandwich shop at 1415 W. 23rd St. was robbed.

At 6:50 p.m. Monday, a black male walked into the restaurant. He wore all black clothing and a black mask.

The man pulled a semi-automatic handgun on the employee, according to Independence police, and demanded that the worker open the register. The employee complied and the robber emptied the cash, obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.

Still, I suppose it's not racist to advise people to beware of a Black dude, wearing all black and a black mask . . . Or at the very least, people of color might want to go with brighter colors as it gets colder.
