Armour Boulevard Still A Hot Mess!!!

KMBC: A man was shot during a robbery attempt at Armour Boulevard and Harrison Street Thursday, police said.

Sadly, all-white, middle-class neighborhood activists are missing the point when they argue to expel all of their minority neighbors rather than work with them to fight crime.

Work with them? I am not seeing many of these 'minorities' doing a damn thing to help themselves. Waiting on whitey for the bailout? And it would still continue....

  2. I've never heard one Hyde Park person mention a race or ethnic group. They do mention thieves, drunks, drug sellers, drug addicts, undisciplined, unsupervised children, and folks waving guns around. As far as I know, these types of folks can be found in all colors, classes, creeds. What gives you the impression these folks are all of African decent?

  5. Of course they didn't mention black people! How stupid would that be? Drive down Armour and it looks like Mozambique!

  6. If the Hyde Parker's are "missing the point", what is the point?

The point is that large concentrations of poverty-stricken people is a recipe for high crime. Here's a high crime area -- because of government-mandated concentrated poverty. Here, a person in poverty gets victimized by crime, shoots an intruder (they own a gun because they're afraid) and shoots the intruder.

If that's missing the point, please Tony, enlighten us, what is the point?

  7. Tony doesn't make real points; he just throws sh*t at the wall and see what sticks. And if it's racism (on his part) then all the better...

  8. Tony's comments about the neighborhood are designed to provoke. He doesn't intend to be honest about the situation. Just for the record, the neighbors are not all white. And no one has ever mentioned expelling all the neighborhood minorities. The neighbors meet constantly with the property managers, police, and political leaders to try to resolve the situation. It would be nice if Tony used his position to help rather than spread untruths.
