Not so long ago, TKC Readers called for an investigation of a local phenomenon that just happened to be down the block from me.
Nobody knew what to make of a sign pointing to "Gangsta Air," especially white people on their way back to Johnson County from The Crossroads.
Of course I knew but didn't want to say . . . Also, I didn't want to grab photographic evidence at night because so many people have been killed at or near my neighborhood car wash.
Luckily, it was nice outside Friday and I took a rare blogger trip outside of my mom's basement.
I came back with a bit of an explanation for the uninitiated:
Very much like a smart commenter suggested . . . "Gangsta Air" is a brand of air freshener.
I didn't have 16 quarters (!!!) on me when I grabbed this photo but I'm gonna go back and pick up a supply to spruce up the basement. Normally, "Pimp Juice" would be my style but the "Barack" is prize winning so there's extra value. Natch.
Nice
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff, I saw that on the Boulevard a month or so ago when riding around with my droogs and we had a hearty laugh.
ReplyDeleteGood post, tony.
ReplyDeleteStocking stuffers!
ReplyDeleteI like that they're advertising Gangsta Air but the product is actually Gangster Air.
It's probably made by white people.
They should have a Bush-Cheney scent instead of a "Barack" scent. "Gangstas" don'twin Nobel Peace Prizes and garner global respect...
ReplyDeletewell swing HO!
ReplyDeleteI'm calling Bullshit on this one Tony.
ReplyDeleteThe last time your brought this up someone posted and told you what gangster air was about.
This brand is made in K.C. and has been around since at least the 70's.
Dumbass.
My name is Boomin and I'm the distributer of this great and improved product that was bought back into existence from the late 60's. We have "Gangster Air" in about 40 plus stores around the Metroplex(K.C.)and Midwest area, please keep purchasing one of the best air freshener's out there! Try "Sweet-Pea" another one of our top sellers & remember that "Gangster Air is in the Air and it's everywhere" Productions
