A big THANK YOU to TKC TIPSTERS who sent news of an ethics fight my way. It's an important story regarding complaints against one of the most powerful political organizations in Kansas City:
The problem: "Freedom Incorporated has not filed a quarterly (campaign finance) report since Oct 2008."

This story has been sent my way since the beginning of the week and I'm sorry I haven't blogged it earlier . . . Meanwhile, I know The Star knows about this but they're always too scared to report negatively on members of the African-American political establishment because they're not only scared but so sheltered that they seem to think that criticizing one group of Black people means that you're criticizing all of them . . . This is the root of their problem, why race relations are so crappy in KC and the reason why The Star's coverage sucks so much as of late . . . And more important than all of this . . .
The Jackson County Taxpayers Association filed a complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission charging that Freedom Incorporated has failed to file required quarterly campaign reports as required by Missouri statutes.
Freedom Incorporated has failed to file any campaign finance reports since October 2008. The voters are entitled to know what funds have been received and spent by this politically active organization. Eugene Standifer, Jr is the treasurer responsible for filing Freedom Incorporated's reports.

ReplyDeleteTwo days ago, you said that it was not an important story when you were called out over your silence on the KC PRIDE Democrat Club run by the disgraced teacher Coach Comstock, which got caught doing the same thing and received the largest ethics committee fine in Missouri history.

Tony we demand fair reporting? Be it PRIDE, Freedom, or Latino's united. I for one am very proud of the job that Mr. Bland and the good folks at Freedom are doing for the Kansas City area.
