USA Today: Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke has been named American League Pitcher of the Year by the Major League Baseball Players Association.
Regulars on this blog know the score . . . This is a marketing stunt that's not doing the guy any service. Very much like David Cook, Zack Greinke's popular appeal has elevated him beyond his ability. All of those impressive stats of yet another great white hope were earned against teams relaxing while playing a team full of pushovers. This prize is public relations, a gimmick, a setup and I almost feel sorry for the fans (over 12 years-old) of one of the worst teams in baseball who think it means something.

Cut the dude some slack, Tony. He's donating the prize $ to the KC Boys and Girls club, and THAT should be worthy of a mention.
ReplyDeleteYou just did!
ReplyDeleteIt means nothing to the lousy team, but the fellow sure pitched great you racist wetback.
ReplyDeleteQuit while you are behind, Tony. You've been tossed off this horse before. He's the best AL pitcher, regardless of color, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. Knowledgeable people across the country keep saying that, and you keep making a fool of yourself.
ReplyDeleteyou dont really know much about the game dear.
ReplyDeleteJealous much? The guy wins awards that mean something and he gets paid.
ReplyDeleteScoreboard.
So this white dude is successful despite adversity. He makes a butt load of money. His peers vote him as the best at what he does.
ReplyDeleteOhh, now I see where you're going with this. He's the worst person in the world.
Got it. Mediocrity or worse rules here.
Jackass.
ReplyDeleteFU and the horse you rode in on.
ReplyDeleteI like baseball!
ReplyDeletewhat else can be added to the comments above, t, except to say you obviously didn't watch him pitch, or watch the opposing hitters look like fools against him. there was no letdown by those teams. they knew they were facing one of the best and every one of them tried to make HIM look bad. fail.
