Here's a horrible sign for local government in this town and the last remaining months of Mark Funkhouser's failed tenure . . .
Mayor Funky's Campaign can't even put together a coffee meeting.
First of all . . . It's nice to see that The Mayor has apparently submitted to calling himself "Funky" . . . That's the name that TKC has given him for all these years.
More importantly . . .
INTERNET DENIZENS WHO HAVE RECEIVED THIS INVITATION ARE MAKING SOME SERIOUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE MAYOR FAILING TO FOLLOW CAMPAIGN FINANCE DISCLOSURE RULES!!!
One KICKASS TKC TIPSTER writes that the Co-Mayors "still refuse to obey even the most basic campaign finance rules. They have a history of showing complete contempt for campaign finance law. They are at it again. Take a look at the freelanced disclosure statement at the bottom of the invitation.
There are strict rules that govern campaign finance disclosure statements on any “lettered material,” which includes electronic format fundraising solicitations."
Here are the Missouri Ethics Commission Guidelines that should be a part of Campaign 101 especially for an incumbent Mayor . . . “If the printed matter is paid for by a committee, print the name of the committee as required to be registered by the Missouri campaign finance disclosure law, the name and title of the committee treasurer who was serving when the printed matter was paid for."
Another AWESOME TKC TIPSTER notes . . . "Even if this was an independent expenditure by an individual who did not coordinate with the campaign committee – not bloody likely when the mayor is scheduled to attend – they have to disclose it. The campaign has a responsibility to police such activity."
Expect more of these mistakes in the future as Jeff Roe has better things to do than hold The Mayor's hand on the detailed work of campaigning. And we all know Gloria Squitiro runs the show concerning anything involving Mayor Funky so I wouldn't expect a professional approach when it comes to communicating with the City.
Also . . . With Mayor Funky desperate to raise cash it's obvious that the guy's last remaining supporters are much too panicked to pay attention to petty stuff like campaign rules that are established to protect our Democracy.
It's going to be a long campaign season.

I agree with Radioman for the most part but I do think this shows the Mayor hasn't learned how to run his campaign properly and that's an advantage an incumbent is supposed to have.

Too much mayor shit, but well I have MY fixations as do all of us. I'm not sure I wanna be in Sophia's club.. we didn't hit it off so well, she's very critical of me.
