Local Lawyer Lynne Bratcher stood up for her client in the Mammygate case and brought the City to a mid-six figure settlement. Now she's using the Internets to champion her clients with her new blog "Uncommon Courage." So far I like what I see and it's an interesting look into the work and stories that surround one of this town's best lawyers.

ReplyDeleteIf you need to blame someone for the $550,000 paid out for Ruth Bates lawsuit against the City, don't forget to blame Gloria Squitiro for her big mouth, along with her larger than life attitude. And, don't forget to place the blame where it actually belongs, on Mayor Mark Funkhouser for allowing his wife to do and say what ever she pleased in the Mayors office. Almost every mayor in the nation will have scandals, but how many end up paying off at the end of the scandals? I think aside from Funkhouser & Mammygate, the worst scandal in a mayors office would be Portland Oregons mayor, Sam Adams, who had sexual relations with a 17 year old boy, in the bathroom, at City Hall. But-did Portland citizens have to pay his boytoy $550,000 at the end of the scandal? No, they did not. That alone says everything that needs to be said about Mark & Gloria. The fact that Gloria wanted to help Mark in the mayors office was admirable, until the "help" turned into some sick power hungry Squitiro monster leveling Kansas City like Godzilla destroying Tokyo in some cheezy old movie. And, in the process, destroying what should have been a brilliant career for her husband. Great going Gloria! So, don't you wonder what Gloria's up to these days? I certainly don't! I'm just waiting for 2011 to get here so we can meet our new mayor-and hopefully, our new Council!!!!!!!!!!
