TKC EXCLUSIVE BREAKING NEWS!!! CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSES AND MAYBE VOTES ON MAMMYGATE SETTLEMENT TODAY!!!
It's a big day in the history of Kansas City . . . Our long local nightmare might be over today . . . And then maybe not . . .
A couple of KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS sent this information my way and they say there might be more but in order to comply with their wishes I have to keep things brief and hold back a few details. But the most important aspect of all of this is . . .
THE CITY COUNCIL WILL ONCE AGAIN BE DISCUSSING A SETTLEMENT OFFER IN THE MAMMYGATE CASE!!!
Of course Mayor Funky is sticking by the stupid idea he'll be "vindicated" but the fact is the City is at risk for a huge chunk of change if the court finds in favor of a woman called "Mammy" . . . Even worse . . .
THE POTENTIAL DAMAGE KANSAS CITY'S REPUTATION DURING THIS DEBACLE IS HUGE!!!
Seriously, the two week trial could bring business in KC to a halt if every nasty detail of the Mayor's sordid life is on public display . . . We're talking NATIONAL HUMILIATION FOR THE SAKE OF MAYOR FUNKY'S EGO AND VINDICATION THAT MIGHT NOT COME!!!
Unlike the irresponsible Mayor Funkhouser, a great many on the City Council don't want to gamble with Kansas City's reputation.
Now . . . This thing isn't set in stone but look for a surprise in today's legislative session . . . Also, I hope that a few TKC TIPSTERS aren't too mad at me for going with this but in this early morning hour I've talked to
UPDATE: The strike through was just to avoid any complications or unwanted hassle featuring TKC having to leave the basement and embarrass the mayor courtesy of a "joke blog" . . . All my information is 3rd and 4th hand and I don't know who gives it too me. Funny, because it's still ahead of The Star. NATCH!!!
Vote yes knuckleheads.
ReplyDelete"I've talked to a few Council people off the record"
ReplyDeleteSo much for off-the-record. You really aren't a journalist.
What does the Gay-hating, Nazi, Nail-Tech think about this?
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't settle. I want to see the Funk circus freak express defend its administration and unfair and illegal treatment of city employees in court.
ReplyDeleteI'll believe it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteThis needs to be settled ASAP. Accept the offer. Tweet your Councilmember immediately. Keep it short. Just text in "Pls get Mammy off."
ReplyDeleteBut then what is Tony going to blog about?
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if they settled. But how can Funk claim he would be vindicated when his wife settled out-of-court.
ReplyDeleteSo funks claim I will be vindicated isn't shared by his own wife. Y else would she settler her own claim.
The insurance company settled Gloria's claim, without her permission. Insurance companies settle cases all the time to avoid the costs of litigation. Gloria's company got a pretty good deal for $45k.
ReplyDeleteBS how can an Insurance Co. settle a claim without the Insured permission?
ReplyDeleteShe would have had to sign the "settlement agreementt" too...
ReplyDeleteThis is the Funk's call to make. I can't imagine that the City Council People actually care about the money and would create a circumstance which would let him off the hook for the mess he and only he (I guess the Squid too) created.
ReplyDeletePlease no! Don't do this Council Titans.
It's called the "cooperation clause." If Gloria hadn't signed the settlement agreement, she would probably be in breach of the agreement she had with her insurance company under the terms of the policy. The company can't force her to settle, but if she refuses to settle they can deny her indemnification. Basically, if she wanted to fight it out to the bitter end, she'd probably be paying out of pocket if she lost.
ReplyDeleteThis is a standard set up. As long as the settlement is reasonable and paid out of insurance proceeds, the company pretty much has control over settlement (unless the insured wants to breach the insurance contract).
Settle now? To save the reputation of our City? Please... the damage has already been done. Yes the extra money from a jury verdict will hurt us especially in these tough economic times but if the lunatic Funkhouser wants to go on with this, let him get his wish. If the City loses the case, maybe he will hang himself in shame (probably not because he has no shame or decency) or then and only then will the heretofore "civic leaders" wake up and spend the money to properly recall and get rid of this Feckless Municipal Menace.
ReplyDeleteNope Sofia, I don't think so. I've heard of doctors who personally tell the Insurance company not to settle. Only to take it in the ass at trial and the Insurance company paid up.
ReplyDeleteGloria signed the settlement agreement because she knew she fupped.

if this is settled then we can focus the bigger problems the city council and city manager.
ReplyDeletedon't settle.
ReplyDeletego to trial.
funk needs to be completely humiliated in public with proven facts.
i would compare funk to a dog you can't house train. funk needs to have his head pushed into his own pile of shit that he created. it's the only way he will be able to see what we see and smell what we smell.
once it all comes out in trial he won't be able to deny it even if he tries.
I agree with 3pm.
ReplyDeleteHe will continue to deny everything unless we can get it written down.
I'd love to see him take the stand.
Funk can't deny Joe Miller's confession that he was asked by Gloria to dig up dirt (retaliate) against Ruth.
ReplyDeleteDan, you were probablky in the midst of trying to discredit Joe Millerf when this was settled.
Dan, why did you threaten Beth?
