One of the biggest sources of local education funding is calling it quits because of the tough economy.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has decided to stop issuing new grants in the harsh economy. There are plans to open up a charter school but for now the party is over with the Mr. K's money for so many educational programs that have been funded in the very recent future . . . And so many schools and students dependent on the cash are simply out of luck.
The 'new' Kauffman Foundation turned it's back on Kansas City and Mr. K's dream a long time ago. This is just the final nail in teh coffin.
ReplyDeleteThis is bad news for Kansas City.
