Plastic Sax offers a great first person view of the Kansas City Concert Scene and notes that it's booming. But sadly, very little of that cash is going to the kind of boring Jazz put on at 18th and Vine.

the first blues and jazz festival - held at liberty memorial - counted MANY more people on the blues side, but since the jazz side was filled with white folk with money, blues was given short shrift.
