Starting the Funkhouser Recall

They're going to turn in the affidavit today at 11 on the 25th floor.

This effort seems a lot more serious than the last time around . . .

TKC EXCLUSIVE DETAIL:

THEY'VE ALREADY GOT 80 VOLUNTEERS!!!

Not bad . . . I've heard they have a few more tricks up their sleeve . . . Stay tuned.

Comments

  1. 80 "volunteers" paid $5 per signature by development lawyers.

I think not, but I could be wrong.

If you need at least 20,000 signatures or more to get a valid 17,000 -- that'd be over $100,000+ someone is paying to fund a recall petition that would lead to a highly risky recall election.

Is there someone else involved that we know to know about?

    Cookingham, Junior

  11. Who should be recalled?

The recalled funk group is a highly political group. The 2 core members of the group: Mike Hart and Anne McGregor are close friends of a city council-member, who said that S/he wants to be the Mayor in 2011 after the 2nd term. The recall also reflects the pro-developer groups don’t like the pro-people funk, and want to drive him out as soon as possible by creating all kinds of soaps:

    Economic Development

Funk: Right after Funk was elected in 2007, he appointed the Mayor’s Taskforce of Economic Development and Incentive Policy to evaluate the tax incentive and economic development policy. The product of this Taskforce is the City’s unprecedented Economic Development and Incentive Policy, which significantly reduce the amount and speed of the tax-payers’ dollars to the developers’ deep pockets.

The Recall Boss: They are very unhappy with this new policy. In the City’ s new 09-10 budget. They eliminated the Development Finance Division, which is the taxpayers’ watchdog on tax incentive dollars. It is in charge of evaluating and scrutinizing millions of taxpayers’ dollars to the TIF developers’ deep pocket.

    Education

Funk: Funk knows how important the education to Kansas City’s future development; therefore, he wants to address this issue by organizing the Education Summit.

The Recall Boss: An effective education system is not the one that recall boss wants to see. Because a strong school district can get millions of TIF dollars which have been redirecting to the developers’ pockets. A case in point is that: During 2000-2008, the North Kansas City school district lost 103 million property Taxes due to TIF project, that is the incremental property tax is redirected to the TIF developers.

    Public Safety

Funk: He understand Kansas City is one of the nation’s 16 most dangerous cities. He knows people will begin to move out of the city if they feel less safe. He knows there is fat in KCPD, but he want to convert it to muscles rather than make it un-functional. That’s why he does not want to cut the police.

The Recall Boss: The do not care about the killing in the poor neighborhoods. In fact, they like killing in the 3rd and 5th district, as more and more murders will drive people out from the city core to the north and KS, so the they can build more houses and shopping-malls using taxpayers's dollars in the north and KS. They can also get TIF and grant money to demolish the houses.

Thus, you can understand why none of the council members got elected in the 2007 election.

  12. FFS, will you whining morons let the mayor do his job. You obstructionist have thrown up one road block after another and then piss and moan when things don't get done. Besides, he is only one vote, so bascially city council members are ones who are f$%king up the city. Speaking of f$%k ups, let's talk about Wayne Cauthen, city council has given Wayne a poor review twice now but you don't hear much about that. What do they do instead of ousting Moron Cauthen, they hire a white guy to take care of his business for him.

This all comes down to certain black activists in the community that are still bitter that Puppet Brooks didn't get elected. boooohooo

  13. Al Brooks would have been far superior to Funkhouser, but this issue of a recall isn't about race--just incompetence. Funkhouser isn't devoted to the city, only to himself.

  14. i love reading the different posts by funky's shills. i've read half this stuff already on other sites. cut and paste.

i don't know a single developer. i don't know any brooks supporters either. i don't know one single person in k.c. that would miss funk when he's gone.

i do know more than one person that would pay thru the nose to get their signature on that recall.

it's time to send that lurch puppet packing. anyone know where to pick up a spare rail, a bucket of tar and a bag full of feathers?

"The recalled funk group is a highly political group."

man are you crazy! No this group is not politically motivated. Just purely appalled at the antics of this stupid mayor. If this is the best that the $5000.00 a month man can do, we want our money back! and we want our vote back, too!

  16. Hi this is Gloria or as tkc so lovenly calls me big foot. I need some foot powder and I have bad gas. Constipated. Fink get over here and run my belly.

  17. Is Spark Bookhartleading this recall effort too? Ann Mcgregor worked with him on the Obama campaign. Bookhart has a bone to pick with Funky and now one of his former subordinates kickoff a recall campaign... Coincidence or conspiracy? Whatever is the case, Fret not Funky because it will fail regardless.

  18. If you are not worried then stop making comments. Just relax have a cold one.

  19. Oh my god! Stop the presses! Did you hear that someone of the people behind the recall push DON'T LIKE FUNK? They have a political agenda!

No shit you fucking moron. A fucking special olympic drooler could figure that out. And who gives a shit anyway?

Any anonymous fucker obviously from the Mayor's office 1:24 pm. Quit spamming your shit on the KC star and here. It's pretty transparent.

  20. There's enough right thinking people that could recruit some tattoo artists to hold down all these recall supports whilst a giant 'L' is drilled into their forehead.

This recall noise is just like a fart in the park. Most people don't notice. Other than the losers hanging here taking it seriously.

    Have another toke folks.
