Watching the Council session . . . They just passed an ordinance to raid the general fund and City Hall cash on hand, all the council including the Mayor was in favor.
Even better . . . One fact to light: Councilman Sharp noted that Kansas City isn't getting the Federal Stimulus dollars that all the politicos were expecting and this kind of crazy cash scheme is necessary for our cowtown to come up with it's own stimulus . . .I'm not sure about the logic of KC screwing around with cash in hand . . . But the fact that Obama's help to Kansas City is minimal is just as TKC had predicted.
Missouri didn't go for Obama so it doesn't surprise me. It would be interesting to see what St. Louis gets. It still wouldn't surprise me if they get more than KC. They have stronger reps from that side of the state at the state and national legislative levels.

I keep trying to tell people that the so-called leaders in this city lack the competence or the clout to take this city to the next level. Nobody here is doing extraordinary things. City government needs to be gutted like a fish. Cleaver did a lot when he was in office because of his clout with the Clintons. Funkhouser never went hard for Obama neither did Nixon or any of these other elected officials in KC and now they expect him to forget what they didn't do for them? All of those Freedom Inc. fools didn't because go hard for Obama because he didn't give them any money, while all of the liberal white Dems in KC were hardcore Hilary supporters. And to add the cherry on top, Double Agent Spark and the coffeeshop organizers and administrative activists blew the election for the campaign so lovely in the Show Me State that it's a wonder that we got a dime. It also has to do with how aggressively the city officials went after that stimulus money. And finally, I agree with the other poster, St. Louis will get the hook up because they have stronger more effective leadership over there. Kansas City need to catch a clue. Claire couldn't do it all herself, she needed help.
ReplyDeleteKay Barnes cost Missouri for Obama. When Missouri counted in the primary they went for Obama. If Clinton had won Missouri she would have had the nomination.
