Yael T. Abouhalkah: "How far he (Mayor Funkhouser) has fallen since those days of being a credible city employee."

Mayor Funky's recent attempt to fire the MAST Director betrays earlier promises of transparency according to a Kansas City Star columnist who formerly dedicated most of his column to the defense of the politician.

  1. This whole affair reeks of insider dealings. I'm disgusted to have voted for Funk. Honestly ashamed. The new era of union-influence and close-doors off the record meetings is appalling.

It's repugnant the way this issue has been handled. The strong arm tactics to threaten their own union members with emails from the IAFF union. The Facts Be Damned approach.

The lack of a plan. The lack of transparency. The lack of any business sense.

And people are okay with this? You take one of the best EMS services in the nation and you destroy it? I don't live in KC anymore. Thank god for that. You're playing with your own lives by fucking with MAST and ruining it.

I hope you all remember at election time what you got with Funkhouser -- you got a union running the show.

  3. Funk is being played by the Union. Once he does what they want he'll be asked for more and more. If he does not comply he'll "walk the plank". Pirate term...perfect for this situation.

    Star toast within a year.
